I have lost my key

Saddly I dont have a spare key.
What should I do?
Please.I need help.

Well, if your doors are locked I guess first you'll have to break in, or ask your breakdown company (if you have a policy with one) to do it for you

After that, BAs usually have an engine immobiliser as standard. I've no idea if you can bypass it and hotwire the ignition, and if I did, it would be irresponsible to say how on a public forum - perhaps someone will be willing to email/PM you with that info, if they have it!

As for the key, I guess you'll have to go to Mazda for a new one and get it programmed for the immobiliser (but someone might correct me about that). They might ask for your chassis number.

Yes, you have to break in I think.

You can take the immobiliser out and just get a full lock set incl the ignitionswitch from a donor vehicle. Mine didn't have a standard immobiliser only a sketchy wired alarm which I took out soon after I purchased it.

If yours doesn't have one either you can just switch locks from a donor.

I think I have a full set incl 2 OEM keys but I'd have to check first.

True, some might not have them. Immobilisers became mandatory in UK in 1997 in any case, I'm not sure about anywhere else.

I was thinking to get a ignitionswitch +The key for it, but I have an immobiliser ..how can I take it out?

Most of the time it is just a little box wired in between a cable, just solder them back together.

Depending on the age of your car you might find any old Mazda key will work. I once locked myself out after fitting an alarm, didnt realise I left the keys in the ignition and the 'unlock' wire wasnt connect :roll:

I had a box of old car keys and went through them, found one that fitted and jiggled it and viola! I guess the barrel inside has just worn down over years and isnt so picky

De keys don't have a sensor or anything in them. Unless you have a remote you won't have any problems.

I've never been able to open up with another key tho. I think you'll need to change the locks.

That's the immobiliser ("security") light to show whether the car is seeing the key's chip.
