Just wondering if I were to do an engine transplant from my 1.5 car to a 2l V6 engine would I need to strengthen the chassis and things like that or just the brakes etc?
Some models of cars are just the same chassis strength etc but have uprated parts for the faster engines. Is this the same for our cars?

to be honest I would just buy a V6 - less hassle and would probably work out cheaper - that is unless you want to stick a 2.5l in. Other thing is the suspension is lower on a V6 and it has disks all round .

I expect that if you swap your 1.5 for a V6, you'll probably have to swap the ECU as well - I don't expect the same ECU can handle 4 cyls AND 6 cyls ...

(I might be wrong, mind you ...)

If you want a V6....buy a V6. It'll be chepaer to do and will be cheaper to insure. [-X

Chassis and suspension, I'm sure, are very similar, if not the same. But rear axle, brakes, transmission, engine and ECU are all different and you'd need to change them all - the parts alone would cost more than a 323F ZXi V6 complete car:

Just so annoyed with the appauling performance of a 1.5 Its a really nice car its just its got the pulling power of like a 1.2 Corsa. lol still love it though

If i remember correctly from an article i read..it says that the 2.0 V6 and the 1.8 chassis was designed by an ex porsche designer. It didnt mention anything about the 1.5...so i think its going to be different..who knows...

is the chassis not the same?
