Got in me maz, coming home from work, started her up and me abs warning light failed to go out, strange i thought, so i jumped on the anchors to see what happens, and sure enough the front brakes locked, so thinking as i am driving, what the hell could be wrong with it, i decide to turn the motor off and re-start her and see what happens, and this time the abs warning light went out and sure enough a good hard stomp on the brakes resulted in no locking brakes, which pleased me, but now i am wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem? and if so where did it lead them too, could this be the start of something nasty, or just a dirty sensor? any advice greatfully received,

My previous car (Mitsubishi Galant) said in its manual that if this happened after the motor was started was to then turn the ignition off and then restart it, this happened to me dozens of times over the 6 years I had it, every time the light would go out after restarting it, perhaps this affects all ABS equiped cars - I understand each time the ignition is switched on there is a diagnostic check on the system, and if the comeback is not liked, then you have to reset it

On a Vauxhall, if the ABS light stays on, its most likey a blown brake light bulb, don't know if the Mazda is the same - maybe you've got a dodgy brake light connection - just a thought.
