Hi. I'm needing a new distributor for my BG GLX1 ABS AUTO. Can anyone please help?

The car occasionally fails at starting or soon afterwards. The starter motor works but the engine does not, although after a while it will re-start again. Could this be something else rather than the distributor itself? I would be grateful if anyone has similar experience or can make any suggestions.

You probably need only the ignition module, but they are hard to find.
Care - there may be a difference between the carburettor model (1989=-1991) and the injection model (1991-1994) which yours is.
For my carb model the part number was 9.4073.
Have you tried ebay or a scrap yard?

Thanks for that. I am expecting an engineer to diagnose the problem today. By ignition module do you mean the distributor? I believe these can be reconditioned.

The ignition module sits inside the distributor.

Thanks again. The engineer visited today but naturally the car worked perfectly. I have to tell him when it fails and he will come asap.

Re BG distributor. Using the car's diagnosis system it came back with engine water temperature sensor faulty. The engineer said these items were no longer available but I bought a new one from Amazon and fitted it myself. Early tests show no problem.

After 100 miles car is still working well, thanks to God and the Mazda diagnosis system.
