hi guys!
just want to ask something about external wastegate
i have a 38 mm tial wastegate and the air fitting is hitting the hood of my BA.is it possible to remove the fittings without having a bad effect in its performance?
by the way i dont have a boost controller thats why im thinking of removing it.

What engine is it on?could you not shorten the pipe?

i wouldnt as it doesnt use atomosphere pressure to work hense the pipe. The wastegate uses the manifold pressure to operate.

is there no way of moving it? even bending the pipe from the manifold?

@paul323f- its a BPT engine sir.my wastegate is sitting at the top of the exhaust manifold and theres no other pipe except for the dump pipe.

@323F ROCK- hi sir! ive done some research and i found out that the air fitting on the left side is the one that activates the wastegate. and the one thats hitting my hood is the air fitting for the boost controller which is located at the top of the wastegate. since i am not using a boost controller so im just thinking of maybe removing it without any effect in its operation.havin a picture would surely understand what im saying but i dont know how to attach

Looking at this installation diagram,

it looks as if you'll be fine the wastegate will only have the closing force of the rated spring inside.
The other method is to take a ball head hammer and "modify" your bonnet to miss it, as long as its not the outer skin thats catching on it!

Would be good to see some pictures of your ride sounds rather interesting!
