Can anyone tell me if a door from other models would fit my zxi? My drivers side door is rotten but the rest of the car is ok so I am looking for a noble green one....

Moved to the BA section :)

The doors are the same, but there are differences between pre and post ford - so you need the correct age range - this will also affect the colour, as the Noble Greens changed in shade too :)

If you get a decent door in another colour and have it painted, get it done on the car and blended in on the surrounding panels - it is very hard...no, damn near impossible, to match perfectly if you only paint one panel ;)

I have a Noble Green Zxi on a N reg. Howie, a member here also has a Noble Green Zxi but on an R reg and there is a definate difference in colour when you see the cars side by side.

This is about the only pic I can find of them side by side. You can just about see the difference, mines on the left

Does it have the lidded door cards or just pocket ones ?.

The paintcode should be on the sticker inside the door :)

As I don't know what you mean by 'lidded' I will assume that it doesn't have those sort.

P reg is most probably pre-ford, so you should have the "lidded" door cards (they have a lid) but its possible you have a post ford car, with post ford door cards.

The doors are actually fully interchangable between pre and post ford, but the door cards and wiring are different, so you'd need to transfer them over if you got the wrong one. Door card is a straight swap (as long as you move one of the brackets over), and the wiring can be swapped but its very fiddly. Also, if you're looking for one in the right colour, you're better to get one of the same year.

And don't get confused between Noble Green I, Noble Green II and Twilight Blue - they look almost the same

Loving those lidded door cards, but I think mine must be one of the first post Ford's then.

Looks like I need a P reg drivers door then....... :iroc: Off to the wanted forum I go...

I prefer the lidded door cards myself, so I fitted the pre-ford cards in my post-ford car for a while  I still have the cards actually in the lock up!

Good luck on your search for a door :thumbleft: there's a few breakers on ebay at the moment, might be worth looking :thumbleft:
