Another interior update,
I was recently offered a lovely set of grey perforated leather seats by Matt (Maylander)
and after seeing some pics and a few details, I agreed to buy them

Matt kindly offered to deliver them down to me, on his way round to collect a new bumper for his MX6.

This morning Matt arrived bearing seats



Very pleased with the look of them and the colour too.

I'm not in a hurry to fit them, until I've had a chance to clean them up and work out fitting etc.

I couldn't of course wait to try out some of my new cleaning products on the leather
so this afternoon I carefully applied some of the new Meg's leather cleaner on a few marks on the edges of the seats with good results.

Moved onto the perforated section on the back of the drivers seat, this had a layer of dirt and some old leather products built up in the perforations.

I used the leather cleaner, this time combined with the soft bristles on the slide lock detailing brush, then dried with a microfibre.

Very pleased with the results, have cleaned up the left perforated section:

Really impressed with how well they are coming up, will update again when they are cleaned up and fitted.

Howie, those are the dogs bo......, thats is the grey leather I want, they are going to be stunning in your car mate.

Looks like someone overdid the cleaning product on them before those, probably didn't wipe off the excess or something.

Leather cleaner looks like it caan hand the seats well . Anything really stubborn on them use a bit of All Purpose

Seats do look nice so what the hell are you waiting for.. get them fitted

Cheers, still have to finish cleaning them up before I can fit them, but shouldn't be too long.

Have completed the drivers seat today, then started on the passenger side.

Now finished both front seats, and half of the rear set too ................getting there

Finished cleaning the seats last night, probably about 3hrs work in all, have come up up really well.

Managed to remove the originals and fit the leather seats this evening, after work.

Only taken a few pics from inside my garage, will update with some clearer ones soon













I'm happy with how they are looking, just need to tweak the drivers seat adjustments a bit more.
Then take her out for a drive to see how the new seats feel

My F passed her MOT today, just needed a new front CV boot.

Got her home this afternoon, and decided it was time to fit the Pipercross panel filter which Mark T gave me a few months back.

Had also been looking at the top section of the standard plastic filter cover, and wanted to do something more with it..............
Spoke with Dazza, and he very kindly sent me down his old cover to work on, as he doesn't need it now.


Set about cleaning it up, filling, smoothing etc, ready to colour-code it.



High build primer:



Several light layers of base colour:



A couple of coats of Lacquer:



Then left for a week to cure,
very slight orange peel in the lacquer was sanded smooth with 3000 grit paper
then using my DA and ultimate compound the finish was just how I wanted it:

Fitted the cover this afternoon:





Also applied a silver Pipercross sticker to the edge:





Really pleased with how it turned out.
