Hi guys, I'm really confused and can't find a solution for my problem. So, I didn't have originally puddle lights on my 96 BA, finally found them but there was no wiring as you know.
I've feed the driver puddle light from the ignition key light wiring, that's inside the door. For the passenger door I took a new wire from the door to the ignition key light wiring steering column. Everything was OK, I made a check, both puddle lights + the ignition light were working. After fitting back the door cards, they all didn't work. Did I blew the circuit? any ideas? All fuses are ok. Is there a relay or some kind of transistor that have been blown off?
Any advices are welcome as also a wiring scheme for that ignition key light...

This is quite common, as far as I know, most folk who've tried to take a feed from that light have reported it not working shortly thereafter :S

You are better off taking a feed from the courteousy light to be honest. As far as I know buggered ignition lights can't be fixed.

I blew mine while fitting LEDs in the door handle, I changed the CPU (located behind the fuse box) and it worked again. I think the cpu circuitry is quite sensitive. You'll probably have to do some checking on yours, like make sure theres no shorts or loose connections. Sometimes if the wire you're using is old or has been 'wiggled' a lot, then the wire could break inside the wire, if ya get me. Re-trace your steps and if all else fails.. looks like a new CPU. (Thats if you really want to go that far.. or quit with the ignition light being broke)

So, I'll need a new CPU? That s*cks! I don't want to change it for a bulb! Now I will wire the puddle lights from the central light on the top, hope everything is fine. I'm also planning to take feed from there to the ignition key light, so it will light up only when a door is opened. Anyways, this situation seemed to be elementary, but it's not like this...
