really, im impressed, i thought 4wd's were a little slower than rwd and fwd, well the cossies are like that, ive looked at the weights of the gtx and it 1250kg kerb weight the 1.8 ba is 1190 kg kerb weight, so should be same or bit quicker???, also the place i read about the gtx weight said that the 165 bhp bpt was 0-60 in 6.3 seconds can any1 correct me if im wrong, i cant find any of shaggys videos can some1 tell me where they are please thanks.

Removing grip from the equation, the BA should be faster as it's slightly lighter and doesn't have as big a drivetrain loss to worry about. Taking grip into account, and the lack of an LSD gearbox, the GTX would have you off the line everytime.

Build an LSD box, and it would even things up a bit.

easiest and cheapest tuning around: weightreduction! Rip out everything and get some carbon stuff on your car. Fenders, bumpers, hood, doors. Take out the rear seat and the doorpanels, the roofing and the mat. Rip out the dash and replace it tith tiny meters and some carbon to finish it off and you will too have a car that doesn't weight a ton!
But all the carbon parts are expensive.

There one thing though, you can take out all of it, but the balance will
be messed up aswell.

Ive put my car on the weighbridge at work, and with all fours its

(weighbridge is for trucks and goes in 20Kg steps, and I put the car
with the part inbetween the doors on the edge of weighbridge)

1180KG with all 4 wheels

but

660 with only front wheels
420 with only rear wheels

So its 100kg heavy in the middle

All not completly accurate, but I mean if you strip all the shite out of the back while the front is still heavy it would be a proper slut if your going thrue corners too fast.

No, thats with a full SS 2.5 zorst, DECAT, RX7 fuel pump ( walbro 255L) D1 F.P.R and a boost controller, turning the boost up2 10psi ( std is 7psi)

The reason it beats civics n tegs is the fact those things dont start to go till 5.5k or so..by then I was full on boost and pulling away :) There wasnt much in it tho to be fair. Wais teg is pretty much the same kinda range :)

Indeed, you are right. But get lightweight body parts, and that is going another way too. If you find the rear to be slippery, then you should add weight to the rear, or lighten the front end.
If still not to desire, then you should add some balance weights to key place for maximum effect.
Suspension setting are also crucial for this end.

But getting in detail about this is way off topic.

roughly £6,000, bloody hell lol. But i reckon here it would cost half that.

What ECU is it running on? Many problems wiring it in?

The problem we have in Europe is that all the JDM stuff gets imported into the UK and not as much into Europe, because its all RHD...

So it gets expensive really quick, I would have had the same problem, luckily Ive found something REAALLY nice over here!

its too much and dont forget i did the transplant 5 years ago.but its worth it . its a very reliable engine. its been through alot of pressure because i have a heavy foot.i blowed up the the first 1.5L BA transmition(3rd gear)the first year. And before i started to learn the motor how it sould work safe(air/fuel) the car was working at 1.1bar with stock injectors (360cc) and a/f at full throttle 16.1 for 2 years and the pistons never melted.so you can understand why is this engine reliable

You just put my mind at rest. You need a G series gearbox mate....from the early 1.8 BA Mazda. So how did you wire the engine in? Was it very difficult?Did you get someone to do it?

its too much and dont forget i did the transplant 5 years ago.but its worth it . its a very reliable engine. its been through alot of pressure because i have a heavy foot.i blowed up the the first 1.5L BA transmition(3rd gear)the first year.
Was it very diffuclt?Did you get someone to do it?
2x Also interested in the wiring part!

the 1.8G is from a BA 1.8 fella :) early M reg models :) the GTX and BA 1.8 mounts are the same, you only need the G series gearbox mount

No welding required Dan (GOGO) confirmed the mounts are interchangeable. Does anyone know if Chi wired his BPD up? I would PM him but he doesn't come on alot anymore :(. I think he got a company in Bham to do it?
