Ive got 2 aerials, 1 post and 1 pre, I took the nylon cord out of the pre ford one and installed it into the post

The aerial now works....but I cant get the bloomin thing back together properly

has anyone got an pic of a post ford aeriel opened up as there is a guide roller that I dont know which way up it goes, lip at the top or down

Teeth usually go on the inside.
Make sure you really pack it full of grease too.

I've had hours of fun with mine but unfortunately don't have pics. Don't remember it being that dificult to put back together though.

I think DKZ is right, I have a funny feeling the raised lip is on the outside

After hours of faffing around, it goes 3/4 the way up and only halfway down then making a horrible noise when going down
The cord actually seems ok

When putting it together how far do you feed the cord up the aerial?

I'm taking it apart later (again) I'l post a pic of the part im talking about

After more faffing Ive got it to work about 50% of the time, sometimes It goes up and down smooth and silent, then other times only goes halfway up then when its retracting sticks and sounds like someones been let loose with a hammer drill inside the boot

This is the pre Ford aerial (I think) this was in the car taped, not bolted in as the car is a 98 so should have had the later one, the pre Ford aerials seem a better design with a bigger motor.

For some reason the post ford mast did not work the in the pre ford aerial as it seems shorter, the pre Ford Mast was snapped

any ideas chaps, do I feed the cord up the aerial then around the spool or the other way round?
