Seats!

I have come to the conclusion I hate the F's seats & understand why a few members have changed theirs. Everything to a T is near enough fine with them, APART from the bottom lumbar support - They have none! Yes they look kool, but drive 1 or more hours a day in a F & i personally feel lower back ache (fit, healthy and young! go to the gym few times a week) also did an experiment before someone says get my back checked, didn’t drive the car for about a week(xmas holidays)...Lower back was fine! What was the chaps name that swapped his seats over from a rover into his F, had a red V6...Sure he suffered the same & Andy? he changed his driver seat?

Might try a CG-lock before i buy new seats or sell the damn car!

I get back pain too Kash. When I had my BG I never had any trouble though.

never done a long drive in the f yet. However that might change with the japfest! Maybe taking another driver down might be a good idea!

I never get car related back pain now, not that I thought the F seats were that bad at all, far better than either of my peugeots

But now I have a Recaro Egromed, back pain is a thing of the past :P

Didnt you use to have a CG lock? & Scott, im not sure atm mate. Ziggy, indeed leather seats are slightly better.

my GT seats are awesome, 2 1/2 hours on sunday each way, no pain what so ever!

Slightly... i think not... ok yes they can get cold and too hot! but mate the way they hold you in, they way you can relax and go long distances its amazing ;-)

Honest leather seats are so mch better, im not jst saying it because i got some.. i really really mean it.

Whilst on the subject of the seats in the BA, i noticed that it seems really low down when i first got in, and the middle lever dowsn't do anything. Is it supposed to raise the chair? I think the problem with BA seats is that they're too soft. Im tempted to try one of my seats out the rx, cus they are well comfy, and loads lighter too

He had the ones in ash and sold them to paul ziggy. :thumbleft:

Theres 3 levers on the side lethagized. All do pretty funky things but they are generally low. The front lever adjusts the front up and down and the middle lever adjusts the back up and down

This is the main reason i want to change my seats... Ive come to the conclusion that one of the most important things in the car is you interaction with it. I.e seats, steering wheel, gear knob etc

Has anyone tried the BG seats in a BA?
Best seats I ever had for comfort, the BG GT ones.
I had the standard Recaro seats in my Cavvy SRi, but the BG ones where much better.

The BJ seats are good enough too, but they do have pretty good adjustmenty bits. :wink:

Does anyone know what other seats would fit the F? Recaro need like an adapter right?.. I wouldnt mind some rover (MGZR) seats in mine!

It's definitely a problem with the BA. I used to get back pain a lot especially on long drives, but I can drive hundreds of miles in the Leon without the slightest discomfort.

The only pain I've experienced with both my F's is a numb a**e! Driven for hours in all directions and never had any back pain.

Now everyone who's met me knows i'm a fat bloke and car seats are a killer for my back but i love the BA seats. The lumbar support in it is perfect for me.

I think GT seats are better than BA seats, but Dan is right, BA seats are really very good compared with the likes of peugeot

Like a feather bed compared

I did 120,000 no worries with mine, it just wore out :P

Still got the CG lock, great bit of kit too, rubber cover has come off, but it just needs re glueing, other than that, no comlaints at all, definately helps with the track days without the hassle of three or four point harnesses

Here's the Recaro beasty :P Shaggy, you SO need one of these, it would make the Mystery Machine so much more fun, especially if you get a CG lock too

The problem I had with the BA seats is that the back isn't tall enough. That flare at the top of the seat is in the middle of my shoulder blades and pushes my back away from the seat.

Some cheap aftermarket seats with a straight back (right up to my head) and I'm very comfy.

by the way, I do a lot of miles (couple of hours every day - going to hit 140K miles before the end of Feb)

i've just gone for recaro's from an evo 8. got bargain price and they are comfortable as hell
