Well maintained by dealer since day 1 but MOT advisory for trailing arms which dealer cannot cover. Any suggestions as it is low mileage and drives well and I don’t want to scrap it?

I got a pair of new trailing arms for the 4 cylinder model. All seems ok and have the mot soon. Fingers crossed.

I'd take Wilberforce's advice, proper V6 trailing arms with the slight bend in them are near impossible to get, at least within UK.

Unless you can find good secondhand ones, but that might take a while.

I've hung on to the old ones as I think I know someone who may be able to fabricate copies. It's just a case of catching up with him.

I also know need a new alternator!!

I am not technically minded (so the car has been MOT, serviced and repaired by the same dealer over the years). My understanding from the dealer is that the trailing arms available are “straight” and will impact the tyres so are not suitable?
I will ask the dealer if they know someone who could fabricate but I suspect the cost may be high. MOT is due imminently.

Nothing positive to report-if trailing arms fail I suspect a new car will be required. Other advisories can all be dealt with (if needs be). I’ll let you know if anything comes up.
