Hi there everyone. Well just done a little video of how to set up to check the diagnostics on the K series V6.

Now if you dont have a multimeter dont worry. Buy a little 12v bulb (like a reverse light bulb) and its holder (unless you have a soldering iron to solder the wires to the bulb) and then connect the wires between the fen and positive on the battery instead of the multimeter.

Here is an example of what the readings look like and remember to write down these and cross refrence them to the following page.

Nice one, what code did you get, was it code 9?
I think this works for any 323F as I did this on my old 1.8 GT.

Personally, I would say a bulb would be a much easier indicator as you get an "on" or "off" signal - depending on the multimeter you use, it can be all over the place ;)

Just a heads up, the 'diagnostic codes' link mentioned in this thread is missing:
http://www.club323f.com/wp-content/uplo ... neac61.jpg

It would be really handy to have that reference, or something like it, to help with interpreting the codes. If there's someone who has a copy to re-post that would help.

I know this thread is for the V6 but reading the diagnostics is the same on all BA models.
These reference sites:
https://erwinsalarda.com/how-to-read-ma ... d-scanner/
https://www.picoauto.com/library/automo ... 5-pin-dlc/
are some of the many similar 'how-tos' that indicate how to read the Mazda blink codes.

I've had success with reading blink codes on my BA 1.5
The codes revealed a problem with the oxygen sensor (aka Lambda sensor). Replacing that got me past an MOT emmisions problem (along with new spark plugs)

I used four LEDs in series (couldn't be bothered to find a suitable resistor) and they flashed to tell me I had trouble code P1170:
Oxygen Sensor (O2S)/Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S), bank 1 - incorrect signal.
Intake leak, fuel pressure/pump, wiring, O2S/HO2S, Injector(s), ECT Sensor, MAF Sensor, Spark Plugs

You do have to be patient counting the blinks. I took a video and made sure the blink codes had played through a couple of times so I could sit and watch it to check the codes.

Now I'm stumped by a new set of codes. I have four long blinks, which should mean "everything is fine, nothing to see here". But they are followed by six short blinks. Four long then six short could be read as 0-0-0-6 but I can't find anything about a code 0006. If anyone can shed light on this I'd be grateful
