A proper spoiler light, made specifically for a pre-Ford spoiler on a 323F/Lantis/Astina. Bought from a company in the US but the label says "Made in Taiwan", so this thing is pretty well-travelled already.

And yes, it fits the recess perfectly. The only hitch might be getting the wire through the single fixing hole in the boot lid ... but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Really looking forward to getting this on the car - I'll try to fit it to the spoiler in time for JAE, though I'll need a hand wiring it up.

hollow stud for the central fixing, thread it into the spoiler, run the cable through it, and secure with a nut on the other end...give me the rough sizes and I'll see if I have one that will fit

And burn it all along with 2 shity tyres

Thanks Marc, I'll get you the hole sizes this week when I take the masking off the back of the spoiler and tailgate. But I can't completely visualise how the stud would be fitted.

To clarify/confirm, here's a diagram of what I have:



The central spoiler fixing screw on my BA comes up through the underside of the screw hole in the tailgate and up into the screw hole in the central spoiler foot. Normally there would be a second hole in the tailgate matching the cable hole in the spoiler, to channel the stoplight cable down into the boot. But on Sundance that second tailgate hole isn't there, so somehow I have to get the cable down through the screw hole, alongside the screw.

Are we on the same page, so to speak?

Drill a hole for the cable, it will always be covered, even when using the standard spoiler

Even better: I've decided not to bother replacing the screw in the centre foot, and simply use the two on each outer edge (they're pretty beefy, the spoiler isn't going anywhere). Then use the existing hole for the cable

Today i bought stock 55-56mm throttle body from 626 2.0l petrol and aaalmoust fit it to my Ba's 1.5 need more tweaking with it..
I played around with the attachment holes and at the end of the day i put it on the car just to se if it fits.. here is a pic of the old and new one..



still using the 50mm one as i need to find the right way to connect the idlle valve.. TPS match perfectly..
The next step is to bore it out to 62mm where is the limit of the TB..

Bought deep 19mm insert so i can fit the new nuts in place..

a brand new set of shiney wheel nuts, slim fits as the new wheels are just too small for my nuts hahahaha

Two new tyres for front, went for Toyo Proxes T1R,s.

New rocker cover gasket and some sealant, as the old (18 year old!!) gasket is now leaking. I was going to wait until I changed the timing belt (my next massive challenge as I'm still the newb mechanic), but God knows when I'll get that scheduled, and the gaskets are only a fiver - I can always do it again at the time.

Will be changing the dizzy O-ring at the same time, and replacing the existing rocker cover with the nice red one Lerch gave me a while back.

2.5" cat to go with the stainless headers. 2.5" build your own exhaust kit. 2 new o2 sensors. pcv valve, piston rings, cylinder hone, head gasket set. its been expensive to say the least

Brand new replacement radiator from Amazon(!!!) for £9.57, plus 48hr delivery for £8

It's only the NRF one, but for £18 I'm not complaining: in the short term it keeps me on the road. When cashflow is a bit better I can always splash out on a Hella, or whatever.

Local Mazda dealer quoted £138.89 + VAT, and offered a free ticket to their comedy night.

Small mesh nylon fish pond netting to fix behind the bumper, to protect the new rad from stones and flies.

I could probably do with something stronger, but this will have to do for the moment.

If at all possible Serena, get an old flyscreen alloy frame & cut it to fit in front of the rad.
That way you can have a gap & some leeway in flex, for big bugs & stones
