Cab anyone help? I have a substantial amount of rot on the near and off side sill sections on the GT i recently picked up. I have looked extensively on the internet for sills, but they just don't seem to be out there?

I have seen some for the 3 door and for the 4 door saloon, but not for the 5 door fastback. I expect the sill sections from the different models are different lengths but can anyone tell me if that have the same profile?

So, does anyone have any sills to sell, know where i can buy some or know if they have the same profile across the BG range?

Thanks

My only reservation in making them is that i want the car to look as original and unmolested as possible, original sills will give the best finished look.

Its looking like fabrication will be the likely outcome though.

Are the sills of the 4door different from the 5door?

Hi. That is what i was hoping to find out from here, i'd guess that the profile is the same and the lengths are different.

Sorry about NECRO Posting but this is the exact same request as I have, my 1993 BG just failed it's MOT on the following...

Off Side Rear Sill Ends
Near Side Rear Sill Ends

I also have a caution for the Inner Rear Sills for both sides as well so was wondering if anyone had any ideas about where I could buy a set of inner and outer sills from?

I'd say there is pretty much 0 possibility of being able to buy genuine replacement sills for the BG's now unfortunately. If they do exist they'll be extremely hard to find and then quite expensive. You're best solution would be to head down your local fabrication shop and see if they can make you some new sills. It might be quite costly but I can't see what other options are available.

In the process of trying to find some sill ends for my car I came across these guys and they specifically chose to stock BG sills when I mentioned the Forum so it looks like we finally have a source for Door Sills in the UK!

YAY for the internet :D
