Hello friends,
Recently, I got a buddy of front brakes Mazda Xedos 9 and realized that a lot of completely different from the front brakes and gear elements on my BA 1.8.
I saw some of the topics on this forum and saw that some put a bigger brake calipers and disc remained the same.
To me it does not matter if the hub with 4 or 5 hole, maybe that would be fine with just 5 when fitting bigger brakes existing there is not much alteration.
So to me specifically interested in whether it is the easiest place in the front and back brakes BA V6 and get what I want or is there perhaps a simpler solution?
I wonder if there is someone who is asking brakes with BA to BA V6 1.5 or 1.8, and it has been documented?

I apologize for the slightly larger text and to be time-consuming.
I hope that you will help me.

Some people have swapped 1.5 brakes to 1.8 brakes (235mm to 254mm), and the V6 has 274mm brakes but there's more complications, due to the hubs being 5-stud instead of 4-stud.

I struggled to find any brakes which fit the same dimensions, yet are larger and still 4-stud, so I'm converting to 5-stud hubs which gives me LOTS more options.

So if you have a 1.8, there's not much out there that will fit easily - 323F_Rock might have some options - I know they upgraded to subaru 2-pot calipers up front - not sure if they increased the disc size too! They'll chirp up I'm sure

You can always use V6 axles and calipers combined with 4-stud hubs and MX5 NB Sport 270mm discs.

OK, I understand how we stay 4 holes, and let's say that you have some problems to take off my kit with brake hub and screw the hub directly complete with disc and caliper of the V6?
I'm asking what the purpose of making some minor fitting for sawmill to the jaw, I wish I could just take off mine, and to ask the other without much difficulty.

@323F Rock How I figured out you are left your base, and you changed the jaw and drive forward and back you all assembled new?

@HughieW Not a problem to be 5 holes, only during installation does not have much torture. How to be bothered, so I'll save you buying a new set of wheels. ;)

@HMT I always appreciate your feedback, because your car is flawless. ;)

I went with 1.8 hubs, calipers and discs on my 1.5, the same hubs that came of the donor car for 323F ROCK's turbo conversion :)

The only real problem with this conversion was the calipers, the 1.8 calipers have a deeper cutout for the disc than the 1.5 ones, other than that they look exactly the same! You need to check your existing calipers with this one as you may find you have 1.8 calipers is the calipers have been changed for reconditioned ones.

The performance from them is surprisingly improved, more than enough to be honest, its relatively easy to lock the fronts if you're not careful 8)

I know you already have a 1.8 but I thought I was worth mentioning :D

That's something i can confirm. Surprisingly, the 1.8 brakes are more of an improvement than i would have expected.

@ andym323 Thanks, any information is welcome, just as my situation is not yet clear whether physically can not get my full brakes and front and rear and just replace them with brakes that were on the V6 BA. The easiest thing would unscrew the ones I have just screw the other, I guess I can not be so, but it is hoped. ;) I am ready to buy other wheels with a range 5X114.3 only to mount and back and forth bigger brakes.

@ HMT Because of this feeling and this improvement and I want to replace the already existing brake from my 1.8, because at some level marketing and stronger engine. Probably 1.8 BPT and possibly V6 just does not know whether 2.0 or 2.5. ;)

I was looking at the forum if someone has done the conversion brakes with V6, but does not seem to know or not to find one radio. ;)

I did the v6 conversion (brakes and motor as well) on my 1.5.

Front brakes are very easy, just remove hubs and refit the v6 hubs. Axle fits straight in add new v6 pads and disks and you're done. However since they have 5 studs you'll also need to do the back and fit disks there. The easiest way to do this is with a complete rear axle of a v6 model. If you have an axle everything will fit straight on. Only thing you need to change as well is the handbrake cable.

Braking improved greatly after this, haven't tested it with some serious accelerating and stopping but I'm sure you'll be satisfied.
