Stormwipers BA single wiper conversion (56k warning)

Its all been sorted. Basically, the link which attaches the wiper motor to the wiper arm is swapped out for a slightly elongated version. This adds 10 degrees. I will add pictures when it is done

I also have to say, very quick response from Storm and real helpful to boot! Nice people and good service.

I dont know if there is one available for the BJ

Storm used to offer a free set for the first car (as the guniea pig) dont know if this still is available

Nick at storm wipers was the guy I spoke to when I originally sorted this... seems like a nice chap. Sorted me out with loads of free bits and bobs.
I'd suggest emailing him through the Stormwipers website, that's what I did in the first instance.

There is a sticky for the BJ offer I think, put it there way back, hope it hasn't been culled in one of the recent purges

Is it the Storm kit or did you build it yourself?

I've slightly modified the origional Storm prototype I have fitted, I replaced the supplied high pressure three nozzle wiper mounted washer jets. The unit looked a little bulky and was glued onto the wiper, meaning you had to break it off every time you changed blades. Instead I fitted a small neat unit from a MAN 7.5 tonne truck that is a fifth the size of the supplied part and clips over the thin metal of the arm near the top where the hook is, it has four adjust able nozzles and whilst not as powerful as the Storm one, it gets water to both sides of the blade

I've also fitted an Russian XOPC silicon aero blade, at the time PIAA didn't do a silicon aero blade, but they do now, so thats on my shopping list

In my opinion PIAA silicon blades are the best mooney can buy :thumbright:

I just tried looking at these at stormwipers.com but it appears the page is owned by a domain name website now. :shock:

Old topic I kno but can anybody who has a single wiper conversion fitted tell me how long the wiper arm is for this conversion? I have the mechanism but can't find the arm i had before......not sure wether i will need to find another one at a certain length or can one of the standard arms be used?
