Right then, i may as well come clean and show everybody what i have been working on over the last month or 2. After taking some inspiration from Bikingpro and speaking to various members about power gains i decided the only option was to supercharge maddy, I know Andym has been wanting to do this to meanie for years so hopefully i can shed some light for everybody and hopefully i can get a bit of help of some of you when i get stuck

First thing i will say is , its getting rather exspensive! I knew this was going to be the case when i decided to take the project but hey-ho it will all be worth it when I've finished. I am rather lucky in the fact that i work for an engineering company so some know-how and materials (scrap or excess ofc). If i didn't it would be costing me a hell of a lot more!
Progress so far has included ripping out the AC and all the different components (massive thanks to hughie and stuz for helping me with this and also to stuz for letting me use his garage). Removing the AC pump will allow me enough space to mount the SC. The SC itself is an Eaton M45 from a merc of some kind i believe. Its a rather big lump of an SC but I've measured everything up and it will fit with slimmer rad fans and a smartly designed bracket. I am building a custom intercooler but for the low amounts of pressure i want, i dont think it will be entirely necessary. We all know that the Z5 engine isn't the strongest engine in the world so this will obviously determine the amount of PSI i can run before the thing blows up. I plan to build everything on to cleanies engine which i have in my garage, making it much easier to work on. I was going to change the engine anyway so it makes sense to change it all over in 1 go really.
I decided to buy a Megasquirt ECU kit which i would need to custom build myself. It was a little daunting receiving a box full of small electrical components but its all about learning and bettering myself which is also a reason why I'm doing the overall conversion. Having now finished the ECU build id say it was rather easy once i got in to it and followed the correct online guides. It did take a little time to figure out what was needed for the custom circuits but i found a brilliant online document which basically tells you every last detail about the Z5 engine.
Anyway pictures speak louder than words so here are some pictures of the ECU build.

I would of uploaded more step by step pics if i could find my other memory card with all my original pics on

Ill try and get some pictures of the mounted SC on possibly the weekend with soem pictures of the intercooler.
anyway, keep your eyes open for latest pictures

Lerch out.
