Thinking of making a project car out of my 1.5 intrigue

clearly we all have a dream of a 500+ hp 323f but ideally not gunna happen.

so i wanna start with the engine, the BPT engine produces 190 hp if I'm correct (which will be a shock if i am) in fact these should also be correct

Displacement (cc): 1.8l V6
Horse Power: 190 HP
Valve Train: DOHC 16 valves

so the BPT would be the ideal place to start with (apart from brakes, shocks and everything else that would need up-grading)

If i wanted to aquire a BPT engine where would be the best place to look?

also what would be a list (guessing a big one at that) of the rest of the parts i would need to upgrade?

since when is a 1.8 BPT engine a v6?
just a 4 pot..

think you're confused with the 1.8 V6 found in the MX3 which only produces around 130bhp.

your best bet is to search on either ebay or some other auction site and try and find a complete BG with a BPT engine.

Sole BPT engine are out there but they don't want to be found.

You'll spend a couple of grand buying parts to turbo your car...so I guess spending the same on an engine and all the necessary parts is worth it?

that's a very good point..... what are the BPT engines like? they versatile as i was thinking of upgrading the turbo on it to.

to something like this :) Stage 3 Kit

i think your first job is to find a BPT engine. after that, you can look into slapping non-standard parts on it.

just to point out, if you're keeping FWD its all about your budget.
also to point you dont want anything more than 250bhp with matching torque
ona fwd or a awd mazda gearbox for that matter, they're just not strong enough,
a toyota gearbox however like the E153/4 gearbox with matching hybrid shafts will
more than do the job, the E153 by the way comes in rear engine rear wheel drive, front wheel drive and all wheel (E153F) there's alot of conversions done to the GTXs n GTRs ;)

Max of the GTX would be 250 somewhere safely...
GTR would be more in the areas of 330bhp...

The GTX needs different piston rods before you can do the full whammy! :)

I'm going for some 300+ horsepower, as it'll be a trackday car mainly, I'd like all the power I could
get from it, and blast it on the straights. I cannot enter too many corners too fast, so slow in and
then again full power out of the corner.
