Well i`m thinking of turbo-ing my 97 1.8 baby :)
So I`ll start with the parts:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/90-02-Mazda-MX5-E ... 1c1b98b777

and

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/T25-T28-Turbochar ... 20b907c3a5

Will those fit?

Next, where do you connect oil and water feeds on the turbo (i see this is oil and water cooled) and engine (for water I'm thinking of connecting the feeds to the pipes designed for warming the TB). Then where are the wastegate and blow-off valves connected to. And finally isn't the brake master cilinder connected to the TB at a place where there is normally vacuum and is this a problem when you force air to the TB after fitting a turbo?

Well it will be very appreciated if anyone can help me :)

p.s. anything else that you can think of as a problem or a solution is welcome

the manifold will fit. same goes for the turbo. after that you'll have to redesign the exhaust, make room for an intercooler, and ofcourse buy either a piggyback or stand-alone ECU (check out the dastek unichip or http://www.stratifiedauto.com/index.php ... cts_id=202 for a megasquirt system).

then you're down to connecting stuff like the coolant for the turbo (either water or oil) and a bunch of other stuff.

Now don't get this the wrong way...

But if you mention this...

It seems you have't got a clue as to what's what on a turbo setup.

Besides just using google, or search on this forum, I'd give another advice to just leave such
things as dreams. As it's no shit, it's f*** expensive, and f*** hard. Especially if you post
that picture of a turbo charger and ask where the wastegate goes... ;) Or where the water and
oil connects up to, or where the blowoff goes.

It's all to be found on google in seconds, and also when things look to good to be true, it's often not true indeed.

Expect to spend 3K ATLEAST Im somewhere near to 5 or 6 when I'm finished...

but the most important part is: if you want to put a turbo on the 323f because you love the car, you love working on the car and you have a huge interest in tech and mechanics, then go ahead.
if you want to put a turbo on a 323f because you want a faster car, then buy a faster car.

The turbo u have put up is a cheap ebay turbo dont go with that, Search for a 2nd hand garrett T28 Turbo from a 200sx s14 or even better the S15 as there ball bearing spool up better

need to tap into the engine and create a oil feed aswell as water feed as the T28 turbo has an oil feed, inlet waterfeed and return, T28 has a build in wastegate

I was thinking to go with the T28 from a 200sx, can I use the pipes going to the TB to heat it up for cooling the turbo :) also where do you exactly connect the oil feeds.

Next important question for me is - brake master cylinder need vacuum, vacuum comes from TB. If u put a turbo isn't there pressure instead of vacuum?

And last one, where do you connect the small tube for the blow-off valve?

10x for the understanding and patience :)

It's never just as simple as chucking a turbo on the standard 1.8 lump, otherwise everyone and their Mum would have already done it by now. If you read all the threads here about converting to turbo, plus do some research on AstinaGT and the 323gtx sites, then you'll start to get an idea of what is involved. And there is a LOT of reading material out there.

Remember the standard 1.8 isn't designed to have a turbo and unless you have an early gearbox, that won't handle it either. This is why most people swap in a BPT.

If you are trying to do it on the cheap.... Don't. You'll just end up ruining your engine or worse.

First... the turbo you posted, has the wastegate on it... the blowoff goes on the piping from turbo compressor side to engine. IC also... Oil and water hooks up to the engine block, for water you can take it off the existing lines, for oil youll
need to drill a hole if using the n/a block. Brakes I don't know... Don't think it works like that...

Good luck!

you could use an adapter from your oil filter, and connect the oil hoses from to turbo to the adapter.

something like this.

No you cannot!

Oil return goes straight to the sump, again people should do it properly or they
might aswell leave it. Cheap ass sollutions are worthless as you'll either blow something
or completly wreck it all.

Half assed jobs are no jobs, as you have to do them again. Turbo projects are mega expensive,
and when done still keep costing money. Fact. If you do not have enough money too bad keep
on dreaming. Its better for everybody...

Been there done that... being naieve gets one totally nowhere in turbo projects!

search search search and search ask questions based upon searches and then decide what
todo. If you cannot get 4000 GBP or Euro together, youll have a crap setup, and will pay for
being a cheap ass later on when something goes bang.

Besides that, there is much more then "just" putting the engine in. It's no little thing, and allot
of people have their head in the clouds way to far to realise that. same here, only thing is, that
I get very well paid at work Which helps allot~! ;)

If you don't save up, if you can't keep on dreaming and keep it at that.
