Found this on ebay usa, its for the astina but correct me if im wrong, there the same engines right?

Was just wondering if a) is everything there that you would need and B) would this fit on a 1.5?

it works out just under a grand, expensive i now but think it would be worth it if it worked fine and nothing else was needed.

Not something im looking at doing now, but future maybe.....

So would it be any good, or is it a hunk of junk that would result in another BA going to heaven?

Yep you forgot the link :evil4:

But for just over a grand, if you found a GTX or GTR breaker in the UK, you could swap the engine out, do magic with the wiring looms, swap the ecu and have a stronger engine with more power ;)

Spending £1000 on an NA engine to fit a turbo seems silly, when you will go from 115bhp to what, about 150? Pure guesses here.
Spending £1000 fitting a purpose built turbo engine seems more sensible, getting you 180bhp or 210bhp right at the start...I think that's the figures for the GTX and GTR anyway.

On top of that, I've read a LOT of bad press about "cheap-ass" ebay turbo kits - they're generic, not designed for any car in particular, so I'm 95% sure you will have trouble with it :( Shame really otherwise it would be an easy power mod ;)

To fit it to a 1.5, you would need a custom exhaust manifold and downpipe, probably a smaller turbo to be honest, and I have a feeling it would just shag the internals of the engine, I've read they're pretty weak in a 1.5 :dontknow:

For what it is worth, I will second what Hughie has said, I base this on haveing built a Turbo charged bike, basicaly the same thing just two wheels. You will have plenty of problems that will happen, whereas with a factory built motor with turbo, you will have the reliability with the power you are looking for. Go down the route that Hughie has suggested, you will not be sorry.
