Hello!
I want to install headlamp washer to my 323F BA.
May be somebody can sell to me native kit from damaged car? (Valve, Spacer, nozzle-h. l. cleaner, pipes and clips)

I've heard about them, but never seen a headlight washer kit on a BA. You'll be VERY lucky to get one

I'd start by asking all the Scandinavian members. They're probably your best bet.

Here's a thought....

If a car has HID lights then legally it should have headlight washers. Why don't we investigate modding a set of washers onto our cars to try and get past the law?

I'd start with washers from a Mazda 6 or even a Volvo as they ALL have them!

I'm start to interesting this device because I don't want to see empty space on my front panel. And this native device can be bought in new condition, but price is very high.
And I think, that it is good modding:)

I think, that this device just comfortable.

I'v got a pair on my car! :D But i'm NOT parting with them.

There is a crashed f on the local junker, but i'm not sure if it has them, though i almost believe so. No idea however if they are intact.

Out of interest, can you find out if it has a separate motor and what the bottle looks like ?

Hope you are all sitting down. . .

Nozzle (r) p.number : BC5S518G0 - £143

This is just for one nozzle !!!!

I can't look at the rest. . . too scared.

Yep! I do! :D

Note that the button is unlike the other buttons in an F, and automatically springs back when you stop pushing it. And dont mind that it looks a it wierd, the wood cover that was in the car when i bought it had loosened around the edges - the button is in level with the others.

Exactly! I allways wondered that aswell when i had my old BA. Was missing the front fogs on that one too, and i guessed that one, but the headlight washer i could never guess :)

One thing that annoys me though, after getting a BA with both front fogs and headlight washers, that the button (or what you would call it, since it's not really a button, that goes beside the thing you use to manipulate the dashboard light) that you can adjust headlight height with is missing. really wondering why it was present in one car, but not the other. seems like a really standard thing to either have, or not have.

What about you guys? Do you have the headlight height adjustor? (wow! headlight height adjustor button :D that must be the most complicated word for it as of yet huh!)

man, everyone wants these stupid washers :P

Here in sweden, most people remove them from their cars because they think they look stupid, but i tend to disagree.

I think that the more extra equipment the car have got - the cooler it looks - provided it's original equipment, that is.

Maybe i should start collecting washers and make a business of it? :D

I can't really see them being all that necessary... Fair enough if they were available cheaply as a kit I'd fit them just because I could :D but really... if you let your car get so dirty that you need separate washers for the headlights, are you really going to spend the time to fill up the washer bottle regularly to clean them off?

If you have hid's they are necessary as any dirt makes the beam go to pot, I noticed this mainly on the motorway's etc.

Hmm fair point, I don't do that much motorway driving myself and when it's warm enough, wash my car pretty frequently. Retro fitting these, even with OEM parts would probably be quite a lot of work I'd have thought? Just getting the wiring to that extra button could be a nightmare if it is part of the loom surely.

all the wiring is there i think, just needs the switch ;-)

do bear in mind you will need all the pipes and the washer bottle, pump etc.

personally I would buy the jets and then connect them with your regular washers and when you wash your screen your headlamps will get a wash too :-) realistically your headlamps will get as dirty as your screen.

My audi quattro would wash the lights when you washed the screen - if the lights were turned on ;)

the RX7 has a button to pop up the lights, press it a bit harder and it washes them :D

To be honest, if you do a journey in this weather, you should wipe your lights when you get home, they'll be filthy! I notice the difference in light output from morning to evening, and that's a 45 mile round trip, not motorways. I would imagine that after a week, if I didn't clean them, even the HIDs would struggle to show me the way home

I think, that for headlamp washer must be separate switch. Because you will not wash your lamp at daylight, when you will clear front window.
it no problem to install nozzles and pipes from universal kits (ex. Hella) but here is a problem with large washer tank (for 2 little engine) and with switch on your dashboard.

Or you fit a relay that only powers them up when your lights are on and you wash the screen ;)

Headlight washers would be incredibly easy to wire up

Just drill a hole in the existing tank, then plumb some hose into that hole (into the bottom of the tank, obviously), then fit some washer jets onto the bumper, then I'd use a new motor (universal jobby from halfords or something), wire that to an extra switch on the dash. If you got a spare clock/hazard/demister unit thing, you could disassemble the demister switch, cut the 2 circuit boards in half, fit the demister switch where the blank is but remove the locking plate underneath it, then drill a hole in the back of the switch casing and run the wires from the circuit board out the back ;)

If my engine start button wasn't there, I'd be tempted

Wire the switch in on the dash illumination circuit, if the illumination circuit is on then chances are that the hids are

or make it so that the switch is used so that when pressed the headlight washers are then included in the washer cycle

And the wiring is not in the car at all :thumbright:

Once you have that in the car, there is just the matter of the auto levelling to sort out
