does anyone know if theres anything behind this? or anything ive gotta watch out for?

yea im sure there is a strengthning bar behind it, best thing to do would be take out the drop down box thats under that one and then you will be able to see properly

Could always build a 'false back' as such.

yeah as offshore said, build your own faceplate that sits inside the glovebox that you can mount the cd/dvd player to.

ok, had a go at tearing the glovebox apart as you can see....

but this is what i found behind!

the supporting bar is underneath the upper glovebox which is good, but not so good is the air feed for the passenger blower is directly behind instead, theres hardly even a gap!

and as for mounting a faceplate to house the headunit, the actual unit is too large for the glovebox so that idea is flawed aswell

another idea i had was to mount it in the lower but larger glovebox...

just a case of fixing it and not making it tacky, then just run the wires through the back to the seperate 7 inch screen?

yes/no?

nice idea, i take it your screen is where your headunit and tray would be??

Just watch if the headunit is in the glove box and you have your car lowered it might make the DVD jump if its not secure. Maybe??

yea it will be.

and i thought of that, glovebox will be supported by rubber strings to absorb some of the shocks when driving.

finally got hold of a pop up 7" screen.
plan is to get rid of the tray bit and place the dvd/cd headunit there and the pop up 7"screen in the original single DIN slot

will update with pics when it arrives
