I bought some cheapish 5x7 speakers for my front doors and i'm not really happy with their sound so ive bought another set of JBL's to go in

As the cheapo speakers ive got come with grilles I was thinking about sticking them in my parcel shelf and running feeds from the back door speakers

Would this be ok as ive done this before in a previous car and they sounded pretty good

Can anyone thing of any other way to do it without having to buy amps and stuff

cheers

splice the speaker wires at the back of the head unit and feed it through to the boot under the carpet and up the back of the seats to the parcel shelf, can be untidy so take your time with the wiring.

Bit confused why you'd want to add your cheapo set in to the mix. If the new JBL's are doing the job, do you really want to add poor sound to a good quality sound? 'More' doesn't often equal 'better' :thumbright:

adding an amp would be the better option for your jbl's the sound would be much better and take half the time to fit

I'm not really into amps and stuff, although i'm sure it would sound much better

The cheapy speakers arnt totally naff, I'm probably comparing them to my last JBL's I had in which sounded awesome

Was just saving them sitting in the cupboard doing nowt really when I pull them out

Think i'l go for splicing the wires to the head unit, seems alot easier than faffing on with taking feeds from the door ones

Was easier doing it before as the car was a 2 door Calibra with the pull of panel jobbies

Do I just use some of those connecting blocks as not really a fan of taping wires together?

I'm completley hopeless with a soldering iron so probs use connector blocks

Does anyone know what colour the wires are at the back on the head unit for the rear speakers?
