cd player aerial

anyone know how i can disconnect the aerial? everytime i turn the igniton on and off im getting the aerial sound for 10 seconds. have no aerial tho so its just annoying!

is there a wire i can disconnect at the back of the headunit? or can i disconnect the aerial in the boot itself?

doing my nut in!

I had exackly the same problem mate

Theres a plug in the side of the electric ariel in the boot, just get access by removing the plastic boot cover and unplug it

What I did was took the ariel out altogether (as the nylon cord was goosed) removed the cord and put it back together without the power supply and its just a manual ariel until I eventually get a working electric one

would it not be easier to just remove a wire from behind the dash??
otherwise ill be disconnecting the aerial later this evening

I thought it would be easier to just disconnect the power from the ariel itself as the boot covers only held on with 4 or 5 plastic plugs

I converted mine to manual in about 10 minutes, you will see the power supply straight away as soon as you remove the plastic boot cover

Good evening all . I am in the process of changing the electric antenna on my new 3232f . looked on ebay and came across 2 sizes of mounting hole 10mm or 22mm .
could anyone lead me in the right direction without me having to take it apart before i have a replacement part

Turn af/ta announcements off and the aerial shouldn't move if your lucky! As for the size not got a clue, always get mine from mazda for £30

cool ill try it out later. just out of curiosity how do u turn the af/ta off? got a kenwood player and i can the see the ta logo but cant for the life of me get rid of it! cheers for the help

What model Kenwood?
Usually just flick through the menu, it'll be in there.
Mind you, I tried that on my old Kenwood, didn't to jack sqwat.

my mistake...its a JVC...dunno about the model but its pretty basic. only menu i can find is the bass, tremble, loud etc. no ta on there tho!

i have a JVC and i think you switch the TA (traffic alerts) off by holding down the bottom right button for about 3 seconds, its either the AM/FM button or one similar, try holding buttons down until you see it switch off.

yeh thanks been trying all the buttons but still nothing happening. maybe its 2 buttons at same time?

If you google the make and model you can sometimes get the online manual for older/discontinued car stereos, I did that for an Alpine head unit that was discontinued in 2002, I downloaded and printed the owners book for it

worth a try maybe?

Meh, easiest option so far is to rip apart the boot trim and unplug the aerial. Just do that dude, no more kafaffling around with menu's and all that.
