K&N Filter development (warning - some big pictures)

so the apollo airfilter for the 1.8 ba fits straight on to the zxi. howmuch does 1 cost i need one. my mate used a frontera 57i an his zxi sounds amazing like scooby noise. u can hear him coming frm half a mile away or so.

There's some on ebay for about £160 at the moment. Not sure on fitting details etc

are they still developing the 57i have you heard mark.t

oh, and what kind of size bore is the intake piping fitter before and after the filter if it is possible to find out.

the sound they create is great, but to spend how ever much for 3bhp at such a high rpm and road speed, to me seems pointless, if they could devlop something that accually work at nominal driving speed around town and such like say 3bhp @ 40mph

i got mine the other day there for all who is interested in getting this you need the 70mm-70mm adaptor take out the middle metal ring in the adaptor to make it fit

i recently fitted an "Apexi Power Filter" cone filter with custom aluminium piping taking down to where the resonator box was behind the bumper... dyno showed max increase of 16 bhp at about 6950rpm!! very impressed with that little badboy... whole lot cost me £80 brand new...

just bought a sports cat free-flow cat-back exhaust system... should help increase that gain!

intend to get fse, leads, sparks and headers soon... hoping to reach 200bhp then i'll stop ;-)

with the Apexi and tubing my max bhp was 184bhp so only 16bhp to go which hopefully my list above should cover most of it! :-)

oh i forgot to say.. i also have an Ecotek valve - gotta be good for 20bhp??? ;-)

Ive managed to get a K&N 57i for just over 22quid :thumbup:

Just waiting for it to come so i can give it a good clean and then wack it on before the meet ;-)

whack one of these apollos on a V6 and remove the caf cover thingy and its crazy the sound they make

no need for a stainless exhaust, absolute bananas with just the apollo

i need a v6.... :cry:
