Does it only happen in certain places or everywhere? As it might be due to interference.

At home mine will arm only if I press the button a few inches away from the alarm unit, but arms several meters away everywhere else.

Hi

My V6 has a Cobra alarm as well and I have problems occasionally.

Sometimes I have to press it just over the alarm.

I have tried changing the battery but not sure what the problems is.............

check ariel of alarm is away from metal objects and away from main harness. best place is near rubber water hoses or if you can up door pillar its only the last 3inches of wire that acts as ariel if i remember correctly we used to hate fitting cobras as they wre crap !

Mine was the same, sometimes it wouldn't even work at all, especially when parked next to high buildings (don't know why), kinda defeats the point of remote locking if its easier to use the key, at least that always works in the lock! Mine had new remotes and batteries as well when I got the car. It then started randomly going off about 1 min after arming.

Binned it, got a Clifford, works from about 50 metres away.
