Morning all,

So decision has been made and i need to free up the space & any money that comes out of it by breaking the track car. Figured nobody would want to buy it as a whole with no MOT and a bit of work to get it there so breaking is the best option.

Full build thread can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=57590

Some of the bits available:
Whiteline rear anti roll bar
Whiteline front upper strut brace
Custom rear strut brace (made from roll cage materials)
Custom B pillar brace & harness bar (again made from roll cage materials)
KLDE V6 (would prefer to sell as a whole unit as its in great condition, no smoke, pulls like a train, new cam belt tensioners and water pump less than 1200 miles ago)
MS design side skirts (currently have added CF effect lips but can be removed)
Rear spats
Full stainless exhuast including de-cat, headers and collector
Single wiper conversion kit
Suede deep dish steering wheel & boss kit
Sparco sprint seat on rails with Sparco harness
Rear spoiler with custom mounts
full sunroof assembly
short shifter kit and suede extended gear knob
all other usual stuff.

I need to be able to move the car so this limits some of the removal options but i'll see what I can do. Drop me a pm and ill see what i can do for ya

Parts sold so far
coilovers
wheels & tyres
MPS front brakes

Sad times but needs must :)

If the engine doesn't go as one lump, then yes perhaps - although I don't know what compatiblity is with standard KFDE.

Lee: if you eventually get to a point where you've sold everything you're going to be able to sell, nobody wants any other bits, and you just need to get rid of what's left off your drive ASAP, any chance I could check the skeleton before it goes, for anything useful for the parts unit? Not for my use specifically, but for future club members' benefit, so the parts are available in storage and not needlessly scrapped. We need to salvage absolutely everything these days.

I know it's been heavily modded etc., but there will be parts on there that nobody will immediately think of saving, but which might be vital later if someone has a prang or just can't get the parts anywhere else. I have all kinds of BA stuff in the unit nowadays, it's keeping Minnie on the road at the moment *looks hard at Andy* :evil4:

If anyone wants to donate any random parts to the club, by the way, let me know. I can keep donated stuff separate to my own V6 stockpile.

If it’s the b pillar cage I was drooling over when you first made it then I would gladly accept a pm on price Lee ;)

would you entertain the idea of cutting out the rear arches at all Lee?

Hi Lerch,

What are your plans with the shell? I'm in need of the roof bar clips, as I've only got one, but can't seem to find the correct ones anywhere!

Cheers
Gareth

Hi, do you still have the rear abs sensors by any chance? I imagine the aircon pump is long gone.....?

Hello! I don't think Lee has anything left after his house move, but I might be able to help you with both of those, let me check! :D

Thanks for the reply....yeah...fingers crossed with Hughie then.

Without the ABS sensors I'm in trouble for the MOT. Can't seem to find any at the mo. Ford probe store (which seems to be closed) had some at £199 each! I accidentally bought some for a BJ that don't fit....£15 each.

Tempted to take the bulb out, job done lol...

Sorry for the delay, I haven't had a chance to look at the car I've got here yet (work gets in the way!) but no ABS warnings on the dash, so all sensors should be good - as long as they're not rusted into place! I'll be hacking into the car next weekend, as that's the earliest I can get the time on it - I'll make a note to remove the sensors for you :thumbleft:

The A/C pump is there too :thumbleft:

EDIT: Also, thanks for signing up for membership Sara! Pleasure to have you aboard, I'll feed Lerch some sweets to get your membership stuff sent out :thumbleft:

Thanks everyone for your responses.. a working aircon as well as the sensors would be amazing!

I used to be a member years ago..I went to castle coombe japfest track day. I wish I'd stayed around.... I am so glad there are still people into these rare beasts! I am now hoping to come to an event or 2. The old girl has 144k on her and is used every day, but is in decent condition considering i dont have a garage and she still looks pretty to me :)

Yeah, looks as if they are still available from America, for around £200 so no saving there

I'll try to get the pump off on Saturday :thumbleft:

Out of interest, have you tried to have the aircon regassed Sara? You might find that brings the A/C back to life, even if for a short while!

If it does, and it is only for a short while, then the chances are you've got some dried up seals and O rings - some dye in the gas should highlight where those are :D

It surprised me when re-gassing.... Previous owner never had it serviced.... Had it for 8 years...... Wasn't working when she bought it.... Now, there's me thinking it's absolutely knackered, will need a new dryer, possibly new condenser or seals as it's leaked out from somewhere (might be a miracle where it just bled out over time) and when getting it filled it actually worked - for 2 days  Took it to another place and they checked and it blew a seal at the condenser, replaced seal, filled it and it's been fine ever since, 3 months ago, it really does pay to run it every so often even if you never use it.
I didn't expect it to work like that, I took it to get it looked at to see what bits needed replacing, not actually get it going with no real issues!

Unfortunately, a re-gassing a couple of years ago (after a pressure test) lasted less than a week. I had the thing looked at by my local garage about a month ago and they said that it was definitely knackered.... :(

Hmm if it lasted less than a week, I'd say you've got some dried up seals, but if it worked during that week I'd also say your compressor was fine! One can always try a new compressor, but I would be tempted to get it leak-tested and replace the seals which come up as leaky :thumbleft:

Hey Sara - just to keep you updated, I've got the A/C compressor off today and cleaned 21 years of gunk off it  I just need to remove the ABS sensors and we can arrange postage for the lot :thumbleft:

Drop me a PM :thumbleft: Where abouts in Leicestershire are you?

Hi Steve, where abouts are you?

I see Lerch has already given you a link to brakeparts.co.uk in your other post (superb company they are, I'd recommend it!) but if you're relatively local to me (Northamptonshire) and in a bind, I do have one I can pull off the breaker and bring to you for cheap :thumbleft:

£179.99 :evil4:

Thanks I did actually manage to come across brakeparts myself on Saturday and my shinny caliper arrived this morning, I really wanted a pair of new pins as well or at least 1 just in case the thread is damaged on that as well, but they also have to come from Japan, and no one seems to know how long it will take. so I think I am just going to go with the old pin and hope for the best. I have been a member here for a good few years but I mostly just read I don't have any mechanical experience but have managed to do a few things to my car from following the advice on these pages, The car has been in my family since new so I am hoping to keep it but it is beginning to look that that might be very difficult or expensive for someone like me without the experience and correct tools. I am down in Bournemouth so its not like the other side of the country. i had a second zxi myself it was a runner that had just failed its mot on a few things I did have some stuff off it and it saved me quite a bit of money but I scraped it a few years ago it was on the drive of our hotel and it made the place look like steptoes i didn't have the time or tools to strip completely but I wish I still had it now.

I think this dude may not be active on the forum any more, BUT if he is, I wonder if the rear trailing arms are available in a decent state?
