Hi again, Some questions about my 323f 1.8 dohc -90. In the first photo: what is this thing that the yellow arrow points at? It's located on top of the engine. In the second photo: what is this thing that the red arrow is pointing at? It is supposed to be connected to the thing in the first photo but the plastic pipe has snapped.

Yes, that makes sense. Thanks! So with the pipe snapped off, does it mean the valve is always open or always closed? Since I will only race the car, the engine will mainly work in the upper revs. I assume it's preferable to keep it open then? |

OK, I answer my own question Looking at this photo and knowing that there will be no vacuum, I guess it will be open all the time. However, for my purpose - the race track. Should I leave it as it is and not bother to fix it? Do people actually feel any difference with the VICS working or not working?

I would say, if you're not going to fix it, try taking it for a drive as is, then hold it open with a cable tie or something, then repeat the same drive. Leave it in whatever position you prefer
