I would like to know if the BG doors have an anti-intrusion bar for protection on side impacts, and front and rear bumber reinforcements. |

I think not. It has some internal structural nerves, but not anti intrusion bars. You can see it easily: just unmount the internal cover of the door (just some screws and some staples). |

Thank you very much by the answer. I don't have the car, just checking for a possible buy. I think I will stick with the BA then, as it seems a lot more safer in the passive safety aspect. |

OK; safety may be important. But for a nearly 30 year-old model, it is assumed that safety will not be similar to present standards. The major aspect is the happiness of enjoying a special car. |

I know, but I got some minimum requirements, and the anti-intrusion bars are one of them. I understand than old cars won't give the same safety as a new car, but the BA gives me more confidence than the BG, specially by this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5mMBVXw0eU Obviously it's a promotional video and they won't show you everything (maybe the lateral impact test was ugly), but I'm confident with the frontal crash test, as the safety cell doesn't seem to deform, the roof doesn't warp, and the doors remain in place. |
