The other day I noticed that the place where the door is fixed to is cracked.

How bad is this? And how can I fix it?

Is that not just the hinge? Shove another one on there, if it's cracked and not just the seam seal failed???

Do you think the fender and the door have to be removed to weld? And I should paint or protect in some way that weld, right?

Sorry, my English isn't too good. I don't really get what you mean.

I think the metal is cracked, just in one side of the factory weld.

It's bolted on...pretty sure that's just seam sealer that cracked?

You think? What would be the correct repair procedure?

Anyway, I will clean it a bit so I can get a better picture.

EDIT: After cleaning the area and touching the cracked part it seems to be a soft material like what I think you are saying. The thing is that when I swing the door a bit, the cracks widens and narrows.

Tighten up the bolts, job done

Yeah i'd do what marc says, either find a new hinge or just make sure everything is tight

You could just get somebody to whack a weld over it if your worried about it but i wouldnt be

Why would you weld it? Be hard work taking the door off afterwards

I didn't pay attention before to it, but now that all of you said that is bolted..
I go to the car to look at it and i saw the thing closely.. the best thing is to tighten the bolts!
Something new that's worth knowing!

Now the thing is how to reach that bolt... Do I have to remove the fender?

I am pretty sure that it is indeed, as marc stated, just the seam sealer. I would just rattle the door a bit to see if it is loose. If it doesn't move, just leave it as it is.

It is probably just the sealant that is dried out.

I normally open the door slightly and then get a ratchet through with an extention, I believe they are 14mm. (not sure)
