you will prob need a turbo down pipe aswell to connect to the CAT
Dont forget the SS turbo/IC piping aswell with a BOV in there! :D

I guess u will be able to run the F series box and shafts ok :)

Great news fella :d the 1st 1.5 turbo made in UK :D

Hmm... Dont forget to lower the compression, new pistons, conrods, conrod bolts, do something with crankshaft, head work, ECU and all associated wiring, transmission, heavy duty clutch, Boost Controller and anythin else I've missed.

Otherwise... You'll blow your engine if the compression is not lowered, pistons can crack, conrods & bolts may snap, crankshaft bent... Yeah...

Haha, nah the Stadard internals can take up to 10psi, but i think im gonna start with about 6-7psi and work my way up to it.

The engine rebuild kit is only about £550 +shipping + Labour, so it an avenue to look at.

I can run 8psi with out any changing with the fueling, but with the 5th injector controller and 2 extra injectors i can run the 10psi, which is approx 140whp, about as quick as the BPT i think???

My only concern is that if im running 140whp and the BPT runs the same, that would proberly mean that i would need the G-series box, thats just a bit of specualtion, but you thought and ideas, would alll help

Its interesting as I dont know what the whp of a std BPT would be if you say -30 bhp through the box and shafts you are looking at 155whp on a std BPT. I think having 140whp on a 1.5 you are prob at the top end of the F series box, I knwo some peeps in Aus that have ran F series on the BPT and it worked fine, but you carnt really push it as it will break! you prob could hit 155whp with the F series but be nice to it :) Also the fact that the 1.5 turbo might not have as much torque as the BPT, so again it may work in your favour to run a F series :)

the only thing to do is plan to get a G in the future and just drive the F untill you kill it with boost :D

Well here she is

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... %3AIT&rd=1

Mine!!!!!

Once this turns up at the doorstep, it will be ordering of the oil cooler and all the hoses, T-pieces.

Intercooler is out of stock at the moment but is ordered and payed for. that should arrive at the end of the month.

5th injectors, Im am going to use the 1.5 injectors, as they are low cc and should atomise properly and the controller i will proberly buy off ebay.

So im on a roll now, still dont have internet at home, but im working on it.

Dan

As far as i know the TDO4L is a better turbo

From the Impreza WRX, and can easily be found on scoobynet, ebay for peanuts (£80 once :))

About 30+ starlet GT's have this turbo conversion and its an awesome turbo, spools up like something else :)

u just cant say that so easily..... all depends on wat u r going to do wid it, i mean ur setup. wrx turbos are good on wrx. u wont get the same power or durability on other engines.

To be honest the TD04L might be lovely on a starlet GT but this isnt a starlet GT is it?
according to the guys that have done the swap a TD04H 13c or a garrett T25 turbo is the best application to suit this engine. better turbo maybe... But then i could say Wow man! get a toyota CT20 turbo, yeah its a damn fine turbo but its fookin useless for this application.

Well not really too sure about how fast this will be looking for around 110-130whp.

All depends how much boost i want to run, i used the TD04H 13-C for the simple reason it is tried and tested, i could of used the TD04L ,but would it have spooled up as quick as the TD04H 13-C.

These are questions i dont know, so i think its safer to go with the turbo thats know, rather than the one i dont.

TD04H 13-C is good for up to 22psi and im never going to run(asmuch as id like to) that so why change something that isnt broke.

All the best dan

Ok just an update

Still to get ;-

Piping for the intercooler
Manifolds made up
Flanges for the turbo
Sump to tap
Oil pressure/temp guage
5th injectors and controller
Sports Cat

For the injecter situation, i think i may have found some bigger injectors which fit the 1.5 and run SAFC instead.

So all is looking well so far just need a bit more cash together for the last few bit then im on the home run. Will get some pics up of the bits i have when the internet gets installed later this week.

*fingers crossed* ill keep you all posted
