Nitrous

Has any members fitted a nitrous kit to the 1.5 and if so is there any pic's available - cheers

Stuartspel has in the lovely Cleanie.. and he also promised to fit it to my car ....but he dont know it yet :evil4:

i was also considering it but id rather wait fo the 1.8/...
is it possible with a turbo?

Okay – My system…

The bottle is a polished 5lb jobbie mounted in the boot (pic shows it outside of car).

The 5an feed line (Black), runs under the car (keeps it cool) into the engine bay to a purge solenoid.

This purges air from the system so NoS is right through the pipes, I have 2 exits mounted at the front of both wheel arches at an angle of 45 degrees

The NoS then goes to the main NoS solenoid (Blue with Blue piping) mounted alongside a fuel solenoid (Red with Red piping) fed via the high pressure fuel line from an FSE boost valve, fittings are now 4an

On activation both NoS and Fuel solenoids open, feeding the crossover jet (5th injector) mounted on the underside of my induction pipe. Activation is done via consol mounted switches (Left – Main power on. Middle - NoS on. Right – Purge on. Blue button = purge) and a steering wheel mounted, converted Sparco horn button.

All the above was made/modified and fitted by myself at home nearly 2 years ago :shock:

id like to get one of those carbon plates u have under ur stereo so i have somewhere to mount my activation switch, did u fit all this urself as well mate?

Carbon Plate is genuine carbon fibre from ebay :thumbup:

i would of thought it all depends on what power shot of nitrous u fire but i can imagine a could improvement - will let u know when its fitted mate

How strong shoot do you use Stu and are you satisfied overall?

I have interesting offer for NX Systems nitro for my car and considering options for now. I could choose size of injector on my own and the guy who is selling it told me that 100hp shoot wont be a problem for this 1.8.

It's very interesting for me because in that case i would be runinng at more than 200bhp under NOS and think that will keep me satisfied for a while

At least till i don't fit BPT which is in plans

I know Wizard of Nos is the best system but also it's the most expensive. Here in CRO it cost double then this NX that i was offered

If anyone have experience with NX Systems?

I think Stu started off with 35hp jets and worked up to 50hp jets, he only used it at track days as far as I know, having been iver taken by him with the NOS on once or twice, I can vouch for its effectiveness :angryfire:

To be fair though, he didn't rocket past me, but I couldn't stop him gliding past me when we got to a straight! Every track day we've done together, I've started in front of him, and without the NOS both cars were very, very evenly matched, same tyres, same engine and chassis mods (except shocks, Stu had coilovers wheras I have Koni Sports and Spax springs), the NOS addition to Cleanie gave remarkably similar performance to the 1.8 on trck

Spot on there Andy, It came with either a 25 or 35 shot but I upgraded to 50hp shot :thumbup:
