is it right that with the bpt conversion that u keep the original loom but add a few wires for the turbo ect..., does the ba loom match the bpt loom apart from the extra wires, which would be the easiest wiring the ba loom to the bpt ecu or using the bpt loom, also would the z5 loom be ok to use if i done the z5 conversion?, thanks

you need to use the BPT loom and then add a few wires from the BA 1.8 loom that are missing from the BPT loom :thumbright:
I'm not sure if the 1.5 loom would be suitable for the extras needed :thumbright:

like i said, i'm not sure. i know that the 3 connections behind the dash for the emission loom uses different points for the V6 and 1.8 manual and auto boxes

i know that some of the sensors are different but that isnt an issue (air temp for example) as they're not needed

what you need to know is that the neutral and reverse switch are the same on the 1.8 and 1.5, or even between the F and G series F's - that is what i cant answer for you

The 1.8 and 1.5 looms are different, which is why I'm fitting an entire 1.8 front end and wiring to my Z5 (eventually) :P

Tmac - what you havent specified is what box you are going to run, are you going to try with the Z5 or are you going to upgrade to the 1.8 box and shafts etc??

like i said above, you need to check that the connections for the neutral and reverse switches and the speed sensor are the same between the 1,5 and 1,8

you need to add the speed sensor wiring from your 1.5 loom to the Bpt loom, and i think you can just cut the wires and change the other 2 connections over (i say think as mine is using the wiring from the BA for those parts not the BPT)

hope that clears it up - you really need to get someone to take some photos of both sets of connections for you so you can check :thumbright:
