Hi folks,

I'm Marko and I've recently started a company to sell aftermarket Head up Displays. (a gadget that projects speed onto your windscreen)

Here’s a quick video and a couple of photographs:

I’m after some test pilots to fit it to various models, snap some photos and a write quick “how to” for it. (I provide universal instructions, but photos of the actual car make it much easier for others to follow)

I’m offering a big discount as a thank you for being a stupendous badass in exchange: These are £69.99 retail, will be £60 to forum members, and are just £40 inc post if you’re the ones who snap the photos and add the “how to” to the speedview.co forum.

Perhaps most interesting to you ladies and gents is that you can adjust it to read absolutely spot-on even if you've played with tyres, gearboxes, or diffs – or your car was an import and they’ve kludged the speedometer. Did I mention it being dead flair and showing up well on trackday cameras too?

Any questions just ask here and I’ll happily explain more, or if you think you’d like to give it a go, drop me a line at forums@speedview.co - thanks!

Here are the universal install instructions:

The techie part is knowing where to find three wires – earth, ignition 12V, and vehicle speed signal (vss). We can also make these work with mechanical speedometers

Here is some more general information:

More frequently asked questions than you can shake a stick at here:

And finally some technical info for the older cars with mechanical speedos:

Just to let all the other BJ owners know, I m not able to do anything in the next few weeks, so feel free to contact Marko for a great deal on one of these if you want to be a "test pilot" :)

Thanks Marc :)

Neil has already done a 'How to' on the BJ, but here's one reason why I offer 2 slots per car:

People always manage to install these differently - "with hindsight I wish I had done X" type thing and the How To gets better or just outright each time. (I got LOLed at with my MX5 install by a guy who pointed out that I can just drop the wire between the dash and the screen, rather than taking a holesaw to the dash - not only less invasive but quicker too!

Neil's instructions are fantastically detailed/easy to follow, but the dash does slope away from the screen quite strongly on the BJ so you see the unit and the reflection at the same time. You could tweak it with a little 'V' shaped wedge/piece of metal to change the angle, but what I'd love to see somebody try is a 'pod' for it. (if you're more patient than I am, spaceboard insulation foam from B&Q can be cut/carved with a knife then wrapped with vinyl/alcantara to make a dead neat little pod for dash mounting things)

It wouldn't be the first - fairy sure I've seen one on andym's Meanie but can't find the post now - but I'd like to see a SpeedView fitted inside one, and to the side of the dash rather than in direct line of sight.

Its also good to have these spread around the country as I think they need to be seen to be appreciated - there's daylight visible and then there's daylight visible for example :)

Just felt the need to bump this thread up. Using my car today I forgot just how good the little unit is. Hardly ever look at speedo now.

Thanks!

Very quickly missed when you jump into a car without one. :-)
