I made that in my BA, also painted in black the interior of headlights, check my thread: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=33196&start=60 I´ve connected wires to cigarette lighter so they are on when i turn key on. Bought those ones: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 1439.l2649 You need to buy 2 pairs because CCFL lights uses ballasts and you can´t cut wires, this part is made for 1 headlight with 2 angel eyes, so buy 2 pairs and put 1 ballast in each angel eye, also is good to have extra ones in case of 1 dies... If you don´t wanna buy 2 sets, buy 1 and 1 extra ballast: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1PCS-SPA ... 2567c53afe Final look: |

Same time to my country to arrive...Don´t know why can´t be cut, probably is because type of material that wires are made, really don´t know, i installed 1st time the angel eyes, cut wires, put a bigger to plug in ballast and didn´t work, so had to order another set, wait more 3 weeks and then put it in place, install the 2nd ballast and know they work fine.

Anyone know if you can cut the angel eyes in half (ebay ones)? Instead of having a full ring. Thanks |

Probably not, but you could always wrap half of it in black electrical tape so it doesn't light up

Think there made from the same stuff as the fluorescent tubes, so i would think they would just brake Hughie has yet another brilliant yet simples idea

I've made myself set of angel eyes for my BA and i think that they are the best solution for daylights because each ring is from 33 Leds and are bright as hell ![]() Anyone who have some skills with soldering iron can make them.. But i can't put pics here for you to see, i don't know the reason.. This is what it says when i try to post pics: "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached." 6 mounts and they didn't show any faults.. If anyone is interested, just ask.. |

Here there some photos thanks to HughieW: IMG_20140912_084007a.jpg [ 218.54 KiB | Viewed 9931 times ] IMG_20140912_083920ss.jpg [ 219.22 KiB | Viewed 9931 times ] I soldered their negative pole on 1 copper ring i made for structural strength, and calculated resistances for all, 1 by 1.. IMG_20140813_190754.jpg [ 248.78 KiB | Viewed 9931 times ] But there was too much heat dissipation, so i've made them on 2 circuits with 2 big resistances outside the headlight body.. IMG_20140814_220530qq.jpg [ 227.07 KiB | Viewed 9931 times ] I put one resistor that resistance can be regulated manually so i can make them fade or be blinding Also made them turn on automatically from head unit contact signal cable (+) and made switch if i want them off.. I can made this if i want, because there are two circuits for bout of rings. They are separated in half as on the picture below.. well maybe minus 2 or 3 leds..VVVVV IMG_20140813_191551a.jpg [ 97.13 KiB | Viewed 9931 times ] |

There's so little space between the lens and the reflector (that shiny thing in front) that i was forced to use leds that are half of the regular size, but they are super bright and spread the light on 120 degrees so if you stand in front of the car when sun is almost down you cannot look at them for more than 2 sec... That's what my phone says when its dark: IMG_20140903_210446ds.jpg [ 240.7 KiB | Viewed 9931 times ] IMG_20140903_210926ww.jpg [ 180.06 KiB | Viewed 9931 times ] I'm happy with the results, so i wanted to show them to you to see what you think.. will be happy to hear you.. Cheers! |
