Tyres will be sorted first as 2 are 205 45 17 and 2 are 205 50 17 and I would rather they were all 40 profiles

I might just stick the 45's on the back and replace the 50's with 40's

I only give 50 quid for them, the wheel pictured is the worst one so might try and clean it up as best I can

I couldn't believe it when my mate opened the shed and I saw what they were, was a real struggle to keep a poker face

Yeh think mine are 205/40's. You've done pretty well there then for just £50 and thats well weird how they turned out to be the same alloys you where after! What are the chances!!

the tread on the tyres is good, just the wrong size, i'd rather they were all the same size tbh, I think it might look a bit daft with 40's on the front and 45's on the rear

I might ask the tyres place if they would part ex my tyres as they're perfectly usuable, wonder if some do that?

It would be best if they were the same all round, but I think its not too noticeable unless its pointed out! and its only 1 size difference.
Im just looking on ebay and a budget 205/45/17 is just under £50 delivered so they aren't as pricey as I thought
I doubt tyre places would take them tbh, it might be worth sticking them in the for sale section on here or on ebay - should get around £30-40 ish depending on tread

I'm keeping an eye on some on ebay at the moment, yeah it's a more common size now so used and even new prices for 205 40 17's are alot cheaper than they used to be

They'res 2 selling locally with 6mm of tread at a starting bid of £20 so I hope I can win those, and theres 1 a mile up the road at a starting bid of a tenner thats never been on the road so watching that aswell

I once bought 2 on ebay with 4mm of thread for £20 so they can be picked up cheaply

Part 2 of rear arch disasters. This is the driver-side rear arch on an 02 BJ Sport.

I don't think filler would stay in this mess for more than 2 months. If anyone has got an affordable suggestion on what to do that would be welcome or that can match the £120-£150 that RLW spent on fixing the probs he had with his arch. I have seen the arch panels selling in a couple of places but not sure if the cost to weld one in would be out the question.

That looks like the lip has gone in places, which will be a bit of a pain to patch up and as you say may not last, it could last a year if you take your time, or until such time you can get a proper repair done

I would use some rust killer on it first, loads of it, then use some aluminuim mesh with fibreglass filler to bridge it together and make a new lip, sand it back then fill with normal filler, sand back then paint, and keep the salt off the area as best you can

Ideally it all needs to be cut out and new metal welded in, just the cost implications of that
