I have an exhaust blow which needs sorting before I can MOT it.

I have a replacement gasket for the backbox, until I get underneath I wont know if its more than that.

Does anyone have any experience with the back boxes on eBay?

Does anyone have experience with fitting this to their BA V6?

No experience with the (pricey) eBay box, but for that sort of money I'd look at taking the back box off (as easy as any other car) and take the whole rear box to a local welder. They will say 'not worth it' and 'metals too thin' but they can do it, almost certainly for a lot less than this eBay seller is asking.
Are you sure Mazda can't sell you one? Or even kwik-fit?
Looking at mine I think the V6 exhaust pipe is a wee bit bigger-bore than the 1.5/1.8 but not enough that they wouldn't fit/pass an MOT
And I'd guess this far after manufacture, any slight loss of performance from a marginaly more slender pipe would be lost in the overall performance drop over the years.
