This week I swapped both rear trailing arms after a clunk alerted me to the failure of one arm

Had a lucky day when mazdaepc was working so I could find a part number
(Note the 1500 and 1800 have the same straight bit and the 2000 is a bit curvy)

Amazed to find replacements cheaply online - £47.50 for a pair delivered

I've nothing to gain by mentioning the supplier 'spareto.co.uk' and I have no experience of getting any other bits from them. I was honestly doubtful they would arrive or be the right part, but they did (quickly) and they are

All the scare stories about removing the old bolts are true, but I had the help of a trusty mechanic with the right tools and know-how, so they came out intact. The trick is, clean the threads, lubricate, gently undo a bit, do it up again, repeat, take your time, bingo! Re-used all the original bolts
So now I have a lovely ride round corners, and one less thing to worry about at the next MOT

Here's the removed ones for comparison

By the way that bit of plastic wrapped around the end nearest the wheel - doesn't seem to do anything and since one side was missing part of the plastic I left them off

Nice work, Toby! :)

I remember, when I saw the car, you were concerned about the white plastic part on the end of that arm being split, and that it wouldn't pass MOT.

Great to know these are still available, as I probably ought to replace them on my 1.5, when I start overhauling it (I'm still waiting for the spring weather to turn nice!)

Are you coming to any of the shows? There's the Yakushi Show in June and Japfest in September, both one-day events.

Hi Serena - I'm still very much enjoying the 323f, smiles even on a 1.5. As you've mentioned elsewhere, there's loads of space; I had a whole rolled-up carpet in there once. Noble green still looks great and it's sunroof weather too! Not sure about safety of show-gathering yet (spring 2021) but I'm really looking forward to meeting the band one day.
