Where to get a new Lateral link arm from??

Car has failed MOT

One of the Lateral link arms has rotted through :shock:

Anyone know where i can get a new one from - struggling to find an online supplier

Also, any idea of what the price on one of these is?

Not looking forward to having to have it replaced knowing the joys of removing a lateral link bolt :evil4:

The easiest way I think is to replace the whole rear subframe matey

I got a V6 rear frame - maybe this it the time to swap over

Yep, I'd swap the whole frame over :thumbleft:

Central Auto Supplies will supply them for you, at about £120+VAT each

plus the hassle of removing the lateral link bolts!

V6 rear beam, V6 rear calipers, V6 rear pads, V6 rear hoses, V6 rear cables, MX3 rear discs, 1.8BA hubs - job done

Though you already knew all that :evil4:

how easy are the bolts to remove fella?

Lateral link bolts? Nigh on impossible. Subframe bolts? Easy as any other bolt really - there's 6 in total, 3 on each side - all 14mm :thumbleft:

17mm for the trailing arm nuts, 17mm for the strut/knuckle bolts, angry grinder for the droplinks, 10mm for all the handbrake cable mounting bolts, 10mm open-ended spanner for the brake hoses :thumbleft:

I got replacement hoses (BJ) for the rears
Got the handbrake cables
Got GT rear discs
Just need some new pads and maybe bit of work on the calipers....
Spare droplinks somewhere too

where are said 6 bolts located mate?

Sounds like you got everything you need

My calipers were a bit sized - I tried winding them back, nothing happened. Whack with a hammer, never had a problem since :lol:

they're currently on the shelf, unused for 2 years - not seized

If you look at the rear beam underneath, it's sort of an upside-down moustache shape - they're at either end, can't miss them :thumbleft:

in fact, look at my rear disc conversion guide, there's a pic of them on there somewhere

You can just make out the bottom of the coilover in the background - the three big bolts on the rear beam are what you have to undo. 3 on each side, all 14mm, should come out easy. Keep in mind the beam will then drop, so have something to support it! I used my knee (I don't recommend this :evil4:

2 years ago I got quoted £225 for a new rear subframe for a V6 from Mazda.
Would save the ballache of removing those b*****d of bolts and the frame would be new also but at a price.

That's a lot less than I'd have guessed though for a new subframe, did it come with lateral links too?
