I've been wondering why the club doesn't have a Twitter account. Obviously it takes time to maintain, I accept that issue, and I'm not in any way suggesting the current staff aren't doing enough!!

It just struck me that a lot of people are bemoaning falling numbers on the forum, or at least that people who drop in once don't stay. But technology moves on and a lot of those people are probably on Twitter, but don't use forums so much these days.

Surely it would also be good PR, it might bring in new members.

A local community forum I know of automatically posts summaries to its Twitter account, with a web link to the topic, so you know if something new has happened and can check the forum to see the full post. It doesn't seem to require human intervention, even.

Could this work for Club323? If so, surely it has to be worth a shot?

I'm on twitter don't use it much but I am on there lol

It's something I've considered - I'm also on twitter, but only really use it for work

Problems I forsee are:

1. Automatically pushing topics to twitter might be risky, if someone posts a photo of their you know what (I'm thinking Neil F or AndyM!)

2. Manually pushing topics to twitter requires even more time and work

But, it is something I may look into Twitter has an API (Application Programming Interface for you non-techy people) which will allow me to automagically push certain posts to a twitter account of my choosing, so it wouldn't be that complex to set up
