Hi guys,

I recently a wrote a tutorial on replacing a lambda sensor to get through the last MOT.

Please see the link below, it's very detailed and will definitely help you out if you ever find yourself in a similar situation.

So do you mean that purchasing any universal sensor with 4 wires and proper thread size will do the job? It's a good option given the price of a new OEM sensor...

Yeah, pretty much. All the sensors are the same, you're just paying for the plug and ease of fitting.

Hi Guys...I need help on my 97 - 1.8 Astina (South Africa) i know this is an old thread but i can't seem to find my car's O2 sensor and i have been driving her for the past 13yrs...i was doing researching on WIDE-MAND etc...my car has been de-cat and i can't find the O2 sensor plug, iv'e been laying under the car looking from the exhaust manifold to the three boxes downstream. I did diagnoses with the LED Method it and it gives me the 1x Long flash plus 15x flashes which according to my research the ECU points to the O2 sensor. Any advise will be much appreciated. Thanks - Jonathan

Your O2 sensor should be in the side of the exhaust manifold, near the front engine mount :thumbleft:

If you can't find it at all, that might suggest why you have an error!
