Here's my manual for installing a shortshifter.

Just rightclick the link and select "save as"

Excellent guide - very clear !

Only shame is - the anodised blue shifter looks great, but then you have to hide it under the gearlever boot.

By the way, I see it results in a 50% reduction in movement, which I would have thought would imply a 50% increase in effort to change gear. Is that very noticable ??

I didn't know if it would work but I was pleasantly surprised when I got it
installed. As you can see in the manual the distance it takes to move from
1st to 2nd gear was only 50% of the original distance.

I love this new shifter. Because you can shift much quicker, the revs don't
drop as far as they do with the original shifter so you can pull up much
faster :twisted:

This item should come stock if you'd ask me.

Thanks

You are correct about the bleu color of the stick but you don't wanna drive
without the gearlever boot, that would look like your car isn't finished or
something.

you do have to make a bit more effort to change gear but because there
is a bearring (I hope that is the correct english word) instead of a plastic ring 9stock) the shifting doesn't need a lot more effort than it does in your car now.

I got mine at www.r-performance.nl but your local dealer must be able
to order it from a TWM supplier.
It cost me 129 euro.

Hi Shaggy,

The shifter for the 323F also fits on the MX-6 (tried that myself) so the
MX-6 shifter should also fit on the 323F.
However I don't know if the length of the shifter below the pivotpoint is diferent from mine so I don't know how that will react.

The length below the pivot point is what counts, so sawing it of won't have the same effect.

Have been thinking about it for ages and after looking through your guide am quite tempted!

Will concentrate on getting the car fully serviced and through the MOT first.....

... definitely fancy one of these though! Will keep you posted...

Cool. If you're able to handle tools it shouldn't be very difficult.
When I made the manual it was my first time installing one of those
and I didn't find it very hard to do.

Good luck with the MOT and have fun fiddling with the shifter

Yeah well sorry about that, I thought I already posted the english version.

This doesn't appear to have the fitting kit like the otherone, presumably you re-use the stock fittings, like the price tho!!!
