| Post subject: | Strange clicking??? |
Hi all, its been a while since my last so hope everyones ok. My car seems to have developed a strange clicking noise when i turn left! Its quite a high pitched click that is constant-ish and comes from the front drivers side, i know it's not the cv joint, they've both been recently replaced and its a different noise, car just sailed its mot too, don't think its a wheel bearing as there doesn't seem to be any play in the wheel when yanked about, the mot guy said there was a bit of play in the steering but not much. Any ideas, its got to the point where i might even try recording it, its annoying me that much. On a different note, craig, do you still want a 3d logo, sorry havn't got round to it but been v.busy for past couple of months. |

I've fixed the ratling underneat my car (the heat protectors) but I still have a really weird sound on the right side (passenger) .. impossible to figure it out, as the noises only comes when I drive a little fast .. don't like it. /Sondre |

I also have this strange clicking when I turn left!!! and it gets faster when you speed up? almost like somethings catching on the wheel. It sounds like the drivers side. I can only hear when I drive with the window open but it's driving me nuts as well and I've been under my car a hundered times!! and it still beats me!!! You are not alone but we need to figure it out!! D. |

I think I know what it is..a common problem with mazda's,, Well it took me a while to translate it into english but it's probably this: constant velocity joint.. Solve it quick if it is this problem otherwise things could result in a lot more damage

these clicking noises (tinny, like metal being pinged) may well be related to corrosion on the other edges of the brake disc`s catching on the pad return spring which sit`s accross the disc in the caliper. removing the offending whell and rotating the disc (while jacked up of course) may well show the offending piece of rust as it `pings` past the spring, simply clean up the offending area and re-assemble. may also be offending rust on the disc catching teh disc backing plate , same procedure as above is required. but the mazda 323`s ARE reknowned for cv joints failing, more so the older pop up headlight model. i know my own 323 used to click heavily when on full lock, but not all the time , only once every couple of days. not much point in doing much about until the fault develops so much so that the offending part can be identified .
