Allright, i have had my experiences with this and the cabin filter on my 94 V6, sits behind the glove box, inside a plastic housing that can be seen if you look up from under the passenger side footwell (atleast on a left hand drive). I had much trouble finding a filter that actually fit my car, and ended up with one for the 323P. I have no good explanation for why it is like that, or if its only my car thats like this due to a previous repair, or it was like that on the early models - you might have more luck. Anyways, its pretty easy to get out, except for the top nut. I reached it via a ratchet wrench with a long extension, putting in after opening the glove box and going in above the rear of it. its very had to see, but if you locate it with your hand from below, you can get the extension on there after some wiggling around Let me know if you need something else - i have taken this particular thing apart a few times, trying to get a good seal and preventing debris from getting into the car. - Jacob |

Hi Borys, If carzide's method follows ok then you have a solution! If not, then be aware that not all BA's had a cabin filter ...
Hi Borys, If carzide's method follows ok then you have a solution! If not, then be aware that not all BA's had a cabin filter ...
That's correct. As far as I'm aware, in UK the filter is only available on the V6, and possibly special editions. I don't know about European models. The filters are loaded up through a slot in the bottom of the white housing below the dashboard. I believe you load 3 at the same time. They are kept in place by a small, plastic, oblong "lid" that covers the slot. If your car doesn't have the filter option, you will find solid plastic where the "lid" would go. I have seen someone here claim that they cut out the plastic where the slot should be, and then fitted the filters anyway; but I don't know how they did that, or if it worked. You might also have trouble finding the filters. I bought some that were supposed to be for the BA, but it turned out they were for the BJ. BA filters are long and thin, BJ filters are square (if any BJ owners want the filters, DM me as I can't use them!) I've not found anyone selling BA filters, so please let me know if you find a supplier S |

I was very surprised when i found out where/what mine was. All i can say is that mine is NOT in a white housing, and it is NOT three separate filters or in three sections. It is one filter, almost square, with one of the edges being a bit rounded. The design of the housing seriously SUCKS so i would not be surprised in they changed it on later models. Its so prone to leak, as there is 2 bolts holding a square housing together (would have been nice with one for each corner... like, really Mazda...) and one to support the very flimsy plastic housing/duct that the filter sits in. |

Nothing behind the glovebox that would indicate I have one. |
