Just a possible thought, we all know of the lack of a haynes manual for our cars, but if we grouped together as we have done in the past could we try and get haynes to produce a manual for the BA series 323F?

Just a thought as we have been successful in the past on other things (ie lockwood dials)

well there is actually a haynes manual for the 323F which actually covers the BA model but doesn't cover the 2.0 V6, it has the picture of the old 323 on the front in green!

i have the book, and it is definatley useful it does have sections saying 'for 94-98 model' even if most of the images/diagrams are for the older 89- model, it does have images and diagrams for the BA so it is worth getting!!

and a bonus you can buy online from the above site!!

I have one of those manuals and I've found it to be totally useless as most of the descriptions, pictures and diagrams are for the non-Astina/Lantis models I was most upset when I discovered this, especially as it claimed 94-98 on the cover.

We actually had a response from Haynes during a discussion on the Yahoo board (..scary- do companies like that monitor what's being said about them EVERYWHERE?! ) and the guy said that, though the manual does cover other 94-98 models, including the 4 door saloon and 3 door hatch it DID NOT cover the 5 door Fastback (That's US!).

I bought a Chiltern manual which, despite covering american models, had more useful info (V6) and was laid out in a much more user friendly manner; much clearer.

If anyone wants to buy the Haynes one off me I'll be happy to sell... say; £10 and buyer pays postage? Trust me; it has NOT been used!!

ok your right about the most part! i too was gutted when majority of stuff was for the real old model!

but it is useful for stuff like the engine and that, did help me install the white dials though!!
as there is so little out there for our car, ANYTHING is good!!!

Unfortuanately the fact that it has info for the engine side of things, thats not a lot of use for me as my engine died on me and so a BPT turbo engine is going in the car in a couple of weeks. Ah well, if haynes say they have apparantly covered the car in the older 323f book they arent likely to produce another one. Suppose they will just produce another manual on modding another more popular car again, like those ones on escorts and saxo's. But hey everyone has to start somewhere and they are probably really good books for 17yr olds who couldnt even identify an alternator.

say we make our own, make a more comprehensive "Guides" section? perhaps based on the Haynes format? as soon as one of us finds something or has info to offer then combine it into our own online reference book?

Did somebody say that they have a haynes manual in Australia that covers the 94-98 model?? - I read it somewhere around here, having said that am sure that it said it didn't cover the V6... goes off to check the threads once more.

The Mazda dealer near me said they could get hold of the workshop manual for the fastback... for around £150

if you want to collect will let them go for £50.00 set. includes zxi, electrical & body books. alternatly i may come along to jap fest. my mate works at maz dealers in parts dept so books are not a problem at all. you let me know what sections you need as they splitt engines from suspension & electrics

I'll be at Japfest and certainly interested.
