Are you running the standard bulbs?

If so....... maybe Upgrade?!!!!

There's been a topic on this before- re lights and blubs etc.......... Do a Forum search and see what you find :P

I had the same problem, well problems, first of all i changed the bulbs but this did'nt make much difference, i then found that the beam was adjusted to low, took it to where i have it MOT'd and they moved them right up to the legal limit, it's loads better now :D just a thought

Make sure you have the right size bulb...Mine is a 97 and i put H1 in their first...a few weeks, and 2 coppers later, i changed to H3..All better now...And aligned the headlight

PIAA all the way!!

Tried several different (read: cheaper!) types and went back to the super-costly PIAAs.

Great if you can afford them, otherwise Osram and Phillips make good H3s that will fit our cars as well.

I'd avoid all the Ebay ones that claim to be x000000 degrees 'white/blue/Xenon' as most of them turn out to be tinted bulbs and give you EVEN LESS light!!

Perhaps someone has had a good experience, in which case they should pass on that particular Ebay sellers details. Otherwise; it's a false economy!

[stepping off soapbox]

I always find a couple of Candles placed on the bonnet seams to make the road look brighter :| only thing is they get blown out quickly ...

As stated above - adjust headlights so aim is higher - get it checked by mechanic tho. and upgrade your bulbs - Osram are ok but not fantastic but they do the Job and are reasonably priced.

Stupid question I know, but can anyone tell me how to change the headling bulb (dipped beem one).

It seems that i've got the wrong bulbs (thanks halfords handy guide book) and there is this strange wire comming off the bulb which doesn't want to move.

Anyone help?
Cheers

Youve got the wrong bulbs...Same mistake as me...

First...Get some H3 bulbs...

The wires should disconnect and part of it should still be stuck to the bulb...

Quick tip - it's very easy to fit the dip beam H3 bulb - without it sitting flush in it's housing.

If this happens, then you get a very very poor light output.

Julie - it may be worth checking this out - take of the rear twist lock cover from the light, and see if the metal part of the bulbs looks to be located properly.

If it is, then it's a case of get some propper bulbs - like Wai, I'm a massive PIAA fan - and get the lights properly adjusted.

Rich

I think some are H1 some are H3 don't know why it vary's and what year it vary's from.

Strongly recommend the allignment as mine was well out and now really nice and lights up the road correctly.

Bulbs well PIAA ones seem to be the most rated by alot of users just a bit on the dear side.

Just avoid the manufacturer RING from my own experience and others.

I have Halfords super brilliance H3 bulbs mainly cuz they were by one get one free and they seem to be great for what I paid which I paid about £12 for.
