I have just been informed that the high level brake light on my car has two of the lights out, I have had a quick look but cannot see how to replace them. :( Any advice would be appreciated.

I have just become a member but have been looking on this site for a while now and have found some very useful info.

I have a 1997 323f 1.5 Estoril in Aquarius blue, only mods are front driving lights, remote central locking with alarm and a sony cd head unit.

somtimes it only comes as a whole unit, as in the whole of the high level brake lights, i work on jaguars, and when one of the bulbs go on the high level brake light it usually burns out the whole unit itself. but i have never worked on a mazda, this probably wont help.

They are LED's and unless you are pretty handy with a soldering iron and have some LED's it's a new unit I'm afraid. I'd be sittng down when you get a quote from Mazda though

Thanks for the info. I think that I may have to take trip to the local scrap yards.
Does anyone know how to remove the panel that it is mounted in, it looks like it just un-clips but I don't want to force it.

Is it the type that is in the black pannel above the rear screen :?: If so, I think that you have to remove the upper tailgate trim and it bolts on from undernieth (ooer spelling) :?

Cheers. Yes it is the one above the back window, I have had a look behind the trim inside and it looks like it should come off ok. Just have to wait for the breakers yard to open again.
