Just want to know if anyone else has had this problem with their wing mirrors. It's especially annoying when you are on the motorway and the mirror is shaking. Its happened on both of my wing mirrors so I presume there must be some more cars out there with the problem. Any idea on how to tighten then up? Thanks

ye, i had this problem... if you look outside the car, underneath the mirror, you will find two large philips screws... tighten these and hey presto, abra cadabra, allakazam, bingo jingo etc...

I had that problem too, I took the low tech approach and jammed a lump of thick tape under the mirror to tighten it up, I think I'll try Murf's solution instead though.

I tried it last night but those screws are rock solid and the wing mirror is still shaky? It's not the actual glass mirror bit that shakes but the whole assembly - as in the part that you are able to fold in. Any other suggestions on how to fix this properly besides a DIY job with tape or such? :?

yeah i know what you mean, mine were solid too... i unscrewed them and screwed them back in, and you have to be pretty aggresive (without breaking anything obv!) they do tighten up.

I had a very similar prob with the drivers mirror, all i did was bend it back towards the car a bit, and the shaking stopped, the mirror was secure end of prob. All i can think was that somehow the mirror was not sitting properly in the (non folded) position, and my pulling it back solved the problem.

If you remove the inside door panel, you can then remove the triangular plastic bit on the inside of your door, behind the mirror mounting. You may even prise this out without taking off your door card.

Once in, you'll see the three screws that hold the mirror to the door.
Tightening these should cure your problem. If it happens again, repeat the process but apply some threadlock on the screwthreads first so they don't shake loose again.

I've had this problem having swapped to the Accord mirrors!

Rich
