My 323 1.5 has developed a rattle at 3000 revs. its sounds like it is coming from the middle box i have had a look underneath to see if its blown or is touching anything else but i can't see anything. Any ideas? Anyone know how much it would be to replace one of these boxes? Cheers |

yeah mine has just started doing it that never did it before - does it ratlle when you make the rev's jump up by pumping the acellerator when stood still? Cos that's what's mine does, I think somebody a while back mentioned a heat sheild that is around that area, that basically rusts on all models...could be that |

Guys its probably just your heat shield. Have a look at the link below. Cheers Ben http://www.maz323f.co.uk/tuning/exhaust ... sheild.php |

I just fixed my rattle this morning when i had it jacked up to replace the pads. Its gonna be one of two things. First of all like Ben said it will be ya heat sheilds, which is easy to fix. there is 2 of em. One under the the front seats and another under the back seats either side of a joint in your pipe. 15 min job to stick jubalee clips on the ends of em. Either that or i found a clamp had come completely loose on the up bend where the pipe curves up into the engine bay to meet the manifold. It bends next to the sump, where there is an L shaped brakcet, over the top of the pipe, that this clamp seems to fit to. I found that fixing this made alot of difference too the rattle. Replacement available at halfords. You'll know what to look for when you see it. Arty |
